Page Turners: The Neptune Project by Polly Holyoke

Thursday, December 19, 2013. The Neptune Project by Polly Holyoke. I enjoyed the part when the Neptune kids went to the smugglers' makeshift village in order to obtain more spear darts. This part was exciting and added more depth to the idea of dystopian future. Favorite Character: My favorite character was Robry because he was always very upbeat even though he was in a serious situation. Robry had a strong spirit despite being one of the youngest kids. Sunday, December 16, 2012. What Happened to Cass McBride? Naorin H grade: 11. What Happened to Cass McBride? What was your impression of this book? Would you recommend this book to a friend? What was your favorite part? Who was your favorite character? My favorite character was Cass because instead of freaking out like most teenage girls would do, she tries to remain calm and collected and to talk her way out. Write a small summary (w/out giving away the ending). Posted by Ms. Lanora. Who was your favori...

Wednesday, November 27, 2013. The Neptune Project by Polly Holyoke. Ooh, I think my favorite character is either Tobin or Thom. Tobin's the resident medic (I usually hold medics in high regard) and he exhibits great care in keeping everyone healthy. His gentlemanly mannerisms and ability to keep a cool head during emergencies, especially of the medical type, won me over from the beginning. Posted by Ms. Lanora. Page Turners Reading
Reading and Literacy Clinic in Livermore, CA. Monday, October 20, 2014. Generally, when I talk about reading, I’m talking about children and the importance of each child developing strong reading skills, which includes an adequate fluency rate. So, when I saw a few articles about a relatively new movement called Slow Reading, I had to see what it’s all about. Slowed memory loss in later years. Deepened empathy from reading about people who are unlike you or in circumstances that are different than yours.

Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Chopsticks by Jessica Anthony and Rodrigo Corral. Name: Melissa “Buck Rogers”. By Jessica Anthony and Rodrigo Corral. I had none. The book was hard to get into. Francisco. I liked him better than Glory, and they were the only two characters to choose from. Call me crazy, but I think a book should have more words in it, and not be made up entirely of photographs. I bet you thought I forgot about you. Nah, I just had my typical cycle of complete lack of motivation and the absurd desire to be more of an introvert than usual. I've done a lot of stuff since I last blogged. 1 I went to San Francisco. And the only photo that I took and that I also did not manage to instagram was the interior of the Cathedral we attended mass in. Probably because it was blurry. I just remember that I am totally not studying for my exam tomorrow. 2 I went to Portland. And this Jake kid i...
