Thursday, November 3, 2011. Reflections on our trip. Today (November 3), I'm beginning to feel like a human being again! The sense of being physically disoriented and exhausted that accompanies jet lag is slowly beginning to subside. So without further adieu, and while impressions from our trip to Italy and Greece are still fresh, I want to reflect a moment on the experience Joani and I shared over the last two weeks. 1) The System worked. 2) People are fascinating. 4) Downtime is good for the soul.

Tuesday, October 25, 2011. Athens was our first stopping point in Greece. Despite recent problems, it is a fascinating city offering ancient and modern sites and sights to behold. Ancient Athens featured a market where the Apostle Paul mixed and mingled with folks as he sharednhis faith. Today's Athens offers the "Plaka", a wonderful indoor and outdoor market. In the picture above Joani is shopping for olive oil. Above you can see an ancient Greek Orthodox church located in the middle of the Plaka.

Thursday, October 27, 2011. If you had to be stuck on an island, Santorini would be near the top of the list. The beauty of this Greek island is staggering, and all-encompassing.there are no "bad" views here. The combination of clear blue water, white alabaster buildings, and towering cliffs creates scenery that is consistently breathtaking. And the famous sunsets more than live up to their reputation. The pictures below do not begin to do justice to the beauty of this place. Nevertheless, enjoy.

Monday, October 24, 2011. Two days after massive riots in Greece, we arrived in Athens to stay in a hotel located next to the Greek Parliament- the sight of the riots! Nevertheless we had a great time visiting the birthplace of democracy. The most famous of the many ancient sites in Athens is the Parthenon on the top of the Acropolis, where Joani is standing above. Myconos is famous for it's windmills. And like all of the Greek islands, it's famous it's sunsets like that pictured below. Our time is running short in this beautiful paradise.
