A diary of my textile journey. Thursday, 30 April 2015. An Experiment Using Water Soluble Fabric. Today this came onto my FB page. Https:/ www.youtube.com/watch? After a busy morning involving Pilates, food shopping and library visit I wanted to try the method on the video. Placed some organza shapes, cut with my soldering iron, in between folded soluble fabric in a hoop. Free machined using variegated thread. It took about half an hour, then I rinsed in warm water and placed over a small up turned dish.

A diary of my textile journey. Sunday, 31 August 2014. Can't believe it is the last day of August, this year is flying by. I came down to London on Thursday and I am pleased to say the weather has been very pleasant. Walked over the bridge in Richmond to St Margaret's to look for a good wool and haberdashery shop. After about a mile I arrived at the shop. Only to find it was being refurbished! On saturday I caught the train to Waterloo and walked to the South Bank to meet my lovely daughter. Also made a ...

To peep through the clouds making the sky a lovely colour. Found these beautiful shells. Wonderful colours and shapes. Also collected these on the way back. And coated them in acrylic wax. A diary of my textile journey. Thursday, 13 August 2015. Yesterday the weather was perfect, haven't been able to say that much this summer! My sister is staying for a few days and we went for a walk along the beach. 50 shades of blue looking west. Jack enjoying a paddle. Our footprints, we walked over 17000 steps yesterday and slept very well last night! After lunch boarded the tram to Cleveleys, a view of the sparkling sea all the way. A sculpture on the prom. http://www.sewstitchknit.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
A diary of my textile journey. Thursday, 26 February 2015. Up early, the rain and wind woke me! Pilates, worked really hard for an hour, hung the washing out as the sun came out, went for a walk with Jack and RD, sky darkened, hail stung our faces, sun came out and we walked along the prom. Looking north, the Big Wheel on Central Pier and the Tower. I love this installation, when the tide is coming it it makes a haunting sound. The Blackpool High Tide Organ. Sorry, not a good photo. Love the subtle effect.

A diary of my textile journey. Saturday, 25 July 2015. A Trip to the RA and V&A. Arrived in Richmond on Wednesday, had a family meal in the evening, Thursday visited two BRILLIANT exhibitions after sauntering down Burlington Arcade. Over 1000 exhibits, I only took photos of my 'favourites'. Roughly 18' x 6'. The items on di...

A diary of my textile journey. Friday, 7 August 2015. Another Very Busy Day! Hello from SUNNY Blackpool! My day started at 6am when I was painting in the kitchen, next a trip to the supermarket then edging beds in the park! Lots of chatty visitors today and I was also photographing progress of the boat rebuild by two brilliant volunteer joiners. 4pm, nearly finished, looking so good. The council need to inspect before it can be used. I think I need to make a flag! This reminded me of sponge printing!

http://www.sewstitchknit.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
A diary of my textile journey. Tuesday, 30 June 2015. A fabulous day here in Blackpool, hot with a gentle cooling breeze. We went for a long beach walk this morning while the sun was hiding behind the clouds. A lot of sea activity on the new pipe line. Clouds beginning to break up . I stood and let the waves break over my feet, first time this year! It must have been rough out at sea as there were many dead jellyfish, this one was huge. And lots of sea weed. RD and Jack having a paddle. The postman broug...
