Sew Stitch Knit: February 2015
http://www.sewstitchknit.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
A diary of my textile journey. Thursday, 26 February 2015. Up early, the rain and wind woke me! Pilates, worked really hard for an hour, hung the washing out as the sun came out, went for a walk with Jack and RD, sky darkened, hail stung our faces, sun came out and we walked along the prom. Looking north, the Big Wheel on Central Pier and the Tower. I love this installation, when the tide is coming it it makes a haunting sound. The Blackpool High Tide Organ. Sorry, not a good photo. Love the subtle effect.
Sew Stitch Knit: Another Very Busy Day!!
http://www.sewstitchknit.com/2015/08/another-very-busy-day.html
A diary of my textile journey. Friday, 7 August 2015. Another Very Busy Day! Hello from SUNNY Blackpool! My day started at 6am when I was painting in the kitchen, next a trip to the supermarket then edging beds in the park! Lots of chatty visitors today and I was also photographing progress of the boat rebuild by two brilliant volunteer joiners. 4pm, nearly finished, looking so good. The council need to inspect before it can be used. I think I need to make a flag! This reminded me of sponge printing!

A diary of my textile journey. Saturday, 25 July 2015. A Trip to the RA and V&A. Arrived in Richmond on Wednesday, had a family meal in the evening, Thursday visited two BRILLIANT exhibitions after sauntering down Burlington Arcade. This beautiful floor has replaced a London Scene carpet. Short walk to the RA. Huge metal structure in the courtyard outside. The staircase leading up to the exhibition-coloured tape! Over 1000 exhibits, I only took photos of my 'favourites'. Roughly 18' x 6'. The items on di...
Sew Stitch Knit: September 2014
http://www.sewstitchknit.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
A diary of my textile journey. Tuesday, 30 September 2014. A Beautiful Autumn Day. The weather has been glorious today and after painting the new kitchen door, which has 15 panes of glass, we went up to Stanley Park for a walk. The colours were amazing. My shadow as I took a photo of the leaves. You can just see Jack walking to the left, spot the butterflies. Looking for fir cones to decorate but they were all high up. Noisy ducks in the conservation area. A truly beautiful day! Monday, 29 September 2014.

A diary of my textile journey. Friday, 31 July 2015. Hello folks, I have a new lap top and am thrilled with it except I am unable to download photos to the blog! I will sort it but don't know how long it will take! Part of the new pipe is being manoeuvred into place. Lovely colours in the sky and sea. Not quite sure how I did this but will continue to play! Saturday, 25 July 2015. A Trip to the RA and V&A. This beautiful floor has replaced a London Scene carpet. Short walk to the RA. Roughly 18' x 6'.

I have been so busy lately with working, traveling, and life in general. In lieu of posting photos of new work, which will be coming soon, I am posting some photos of my sketchbooks. I have just started to document them, as there is now close to a decades’ worth of doodles! The sketchbooks are important to me, I almost always have one on me. I keep ideas, sketches, memories, quotes that speak to me, ticket stubs, scraps of paper and fabric, photosanything and everything. I hope you enjoy them! Newer Post...
Artisan apron
http://janetclare.co.uk/blog?p=2051
As you may know, I work from home in a little room off the kitchen and I used to find myself doing all the things that needed to be done instead of actually working. If you work from home I’m sure you know what I’m talking about! After much thought I realised that I needed a work uniform, something to wear that made me (and everyone else) know that I was not at home but. My apron is so lovely and cream and special that I’m not tempted to sweep the floor or brush the dog when I’m wearing it! I heard your ...

Distance Learning - Machine Embroidery. This course has been developed from the City and Guilds 7822 Level 2 course which I taught in college and by Distance Learning for Gloucester College. It contains the same syllabus, the only difference being that as I am no longer attached to a college, there is no City and Guilds certification available. Although the course has only been running for a few months, there is great feedback already:. To images of students' work from this course. Making marks with stit...

This blog chronicles my learning curve as I design and create with fabric, wool, paper and felt. Saturday, 22 February 2014. A little bit of everything. This week I've had a lovely time playing with paints. I've had a go at using water colours. I enjoyed myself, but feel a lot more practice might improve the end result. Thursday, 20 February 2014. Yesterday I had the most lovely walk through Witch Wood in StAnnes/Lytham. I think this looks like the ears from Roald Dahl's BFG! Wednesday, 19 February 2014.

A journey into the world of machine embroidery, creating textiles, arts and crafts. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Author Archives: Julie Broad. March 7, 2016. I headed for the local charity shops to buy a small drum shaped lampshade. It had definately seen better days. I didn’t get a photograph. It was so dusty that I threw it straight into the kitchen sink for a good wash even though I was about to take it to pieces. Next, I cut the Lutradur. I measured the fabric I’d rem...Firstly...

Friday, July 3, 2015. What I Did This Week #20. Ok - so apparently when you schedule a post at a certain time, you still have to hit "Publish". Yes, I knew this as I have scheduled posts before but apparently that did not happen. The reason I scheduled this was specifically because I had to be up early today; and on top of that I was unable to check it until just recently. hence the late link up! Back to the original post. Are you guys all set and ready for celebrating tomorrow? I know I am! Have done an...

A diary of my textile journey. Thursday, 13 August 2015. Yesterday the weather was perfect, haven't been able to say that much this summer! My sister is staying for a few days and we went for a walk along the beach. 50 shades of blue looking west. Jack enjoying a paddle. Our footprints, we walked over 17000 steps yesterday and slept very well last night! After lunch boarded the tram to Cleveleys, a view of the sparkling sea all the way. A sculpture on the prom. Sunday, April 13, 2014. Scrappy Fair Isle Quilt tutorial. It's been a while since my last post, and since then I've been a busy bee, sewing away. A few days ago I started a new quilt, and wanted to put up some details on it with a little tutorial, as a few people on Instagram have expressed an interest in making one as well. I was perusing Pinterest the other day, and came across a pin of a fair isle knitting pattern. That immediately screamed out "quilt! Scrappy Fair Isle Quilt Tutorial. 25"x25" squares...
