Just a small town girl…. Life has been busy and full (of mostly good things) in the last few weeks. Sister is in Spain and loving it. Over Christmas break she’ll be going to Ireland, London, and Paris. She sent me a text this morning of the Christmas Eve feast she prepared and shared with friends. Just a small town girl…. The past week or so, the need for me to speak up and out has been ever present. Lots of conversation where my instinct is to stay quiet or say “I don’t know” or “nothing” but I’ve had to push past the discomfort and fear of saying the wrong thing to just be honest. The Musings of a Kurkinen Wife. Just another WordPress.com weblog. March 24, 2012. Well, it’s almost April and I don’t care. Since it’s been snowing here in the Northwest, I’m posting a favorite pancake recipe. It tastes like Christmas! 15 c (cup) white flour. 15 c wheat flour. 1 c b sugar. 1 T (tablespoon) baking powder. 15 t (teaspoon) baking soda. 1 t g (ground) cinnamon. 1 t g ginger. 1/4 t g. nutmeg. 1/8 t g. cloves. 1/2 c coffee, brewed and cooled to room temp. 4 lg eggs, beaten. 1/4 c lemon juice.

The Musings of a Kurkinen Wife. Just another WordPress.com weblog. The weather is gorgeous…outside. August 12, 2010. Most times I’d rather it be crappy and cold outside when I’m sick. Then I can curl up with soup and tea and sweat pants AND a fever and not burn up. This week I was hit hard with some soar throat icky thing. Went to the Olive Garden and had 3 BOWLS of soup and 3 cups of tea. I am just glad it was air conditioned! Here’s to hoping I’m better by my next shift on the weekend! I love my husband.
