poetry bites: Empty

http://poetrybites.blogspot.com/2015/07/empty.html

Small poems and small plates. Haiku (and not your usual 5-7-5). Haiku - not the usual 5-7-5. Friday, July 31, 2015. Strong morning light splashed wood with delicious afterimage. Early evening fog rolls in, the wooden fence is blank. Blank, because I didn't look closely? Is "blank" close to "empty? A blank sheet of paper; an empty plate? I wonder what was erased when light fled? Is a bowl ever complete and empty? I wonder what will be, breakfast? Labels: blank and empty. August 11, 2015 at 10:10 AM.

poetry bites: April 2015

Small poems and small plates. Haiku (and not your usual 5-7-5). Haiku - not the usual 5-7-5. Thursday, April 30, 2015. Perry 99 Perry St. in the West Village. I didn't grow up there, but I grew there. On the right is my friend Nina. I'm on the left capturing memories. It's not only food but photos and poems bring forth memories. And, yes, precisely - food. Thinking of butterfish dipped in buttermilk and coasted with sesame seeds. Sauted - gently. Thinking of Judy G and Ron. Where are you? I saw what my m...

poetry bites: Faraway

Small poems and small plates. Haiku (and not your usual 5-7-5). Haiku - not the usual 5-7-5. Saturday, August 8, 2015. Nearby - the tagline Georgia O'Keeffe used to sign her correspondence. So, I'm at the "faraway," aka Strybing Arboretum and encournter this plant in the Fragrance Garden. It appears both otherwordly and familiar. When I discover the name of the plant, I am delighted as only a good punchline amuses:. So what's for lunch? Something celebratory and colorful. One should be as greedy for love.

poetry bites: Parse

http://poetrybites.blogspot.com/2015/07/parse.html

Small poems and small plates. Haiku (and not your usual 5-7-5). Haiku - not the usual 5-7-5. Tuesday, July 28, 2015. The three stages of any question. This time the question concerns parsing and Latin. How does a meal parse food. A poem, words? Surely, veritas tires the cat as much as reading blink poems. Please click on image before. The little thoughts that tickle.the sensations waiting to let out, are transported into prose that speak of the individual's private life. Tuesday, April 21, 2009. I have been asleep again. For longer than usual. Because my virtual cocaine. Got me very sentimental. All night long I waited. For a dose of you once more. But you stood there utter intoxicated. Ignoring the pains I endure. Another Poem o’ the Day. On Not Being Pat. She entered the café. Our eyes met for three seconds past casual. She was gorgeous. 8220;Are you Pat? I studied my latte. What if I said yes? We’d talk. We’d fall in love, marry, start a family. Then a deathbed confession and plea for forgiveness–I didn’t even know Pat! 8211;but she’d have already fled the room for her lawyer. The priest would murmur, “Only God offers true forgiveness.”. 8212;——————–. Air Conditioning and Other Pleasures. Woke up this morning,.

Poetry Bits 'n' Bytes

Poetry Bits 'n' Bytes. Monday, December 21, 2009. In my travels, especially those through the western United States, I've often marveled at the petroglyphs and pectoglyphs left by the ancient ones upon cliff rocks. Were they but endeavoring to leave their mark for future generations? These markings would range from simple symbols to ghost like figures. Sometimes the imprint or outline of a hand would be pecked or printed upon a rock face. Who was the author of these rock drawings? This is reprinted below:.
