Life With Lonnie: February 2010
http://raisinganautisticchild.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Raising an autistic child. Friday, February 19, 2010. Valentines Day has come and gone. Lonnie was very excited about making valentines for the children in her class. I helped her print their names on tags which she put on small bags of candy. She was really involved this year - making sure all the childrens names were accounted for and that all the bags had the same amounts in them. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Taking over the sofa. New home for some of her "critters".
Life With Lonnie: Holidays
http://raisinganautisticchild.blogspot.com/2011/01/holidays.html
Raising an autistic child. Thursday, January 20, 2011. It seems like Thanksgiving and Christmas went by in a blur this year. We got a Christmas dress for Jenny. She seemed to enjoy wearing it - prancing around. Lonnie had some rough days, mostly stressing out when routines got changed. Although she enjoyed her winter break, starting back to school was really tough. She would wander around the classroom and refuse to do work - telling the teacher "it was scary". Raising an autistic child. Thursday, January 20, 2011. Hard to get my head around but our miracle child just turned 13! Her birthday falls during winter break so it's hard to get kids here for a party - so we had cake with family and took Lonnie bowling. She really enjoys bowling and is getting pretty good, but she gets really frustrated when she doesn't knock down all the pins. Links to this post. How To Train Your Dragon. Links to this post. Burnout can happen in any stress inducing, all encompassing area of our lives and parenting is no exception. In order to overcome burnout, you must make some long term lifestyle changes. I don’t have a 12 step plan, or a magic wand I can wave to get your life back on track but I can tell you what has been helping me. Reading my Bible and praying daily. This has been the biggest game changer for me (ya think?

Inspiration for Faith, Family and Frugal Living. Fear Fighting: Stomping Out the Image of Perfect {Guest Post}. I blame it on TV. I grew up watching the princesses. You know them, right? They were the ones whose complexions looked like porcelain, whose lips were the color of rose and whose lives were a hot mess. Raising Anchor - FOLLOW MO FROM LONDON TO THE WORLD
Throughout our journey on the airport train we had not seen nor heard any names of the stops that the train had made. At one station we saw lots of people suddenly get up and leave the train. We panicked and made a last minute decision to take a gamble and walk off the train! We followed the signs for the exit (all in Spanish) and ended up walking up a flight of stairs towards the entrance of the station. Still unknown where we were we confronted up a large sign ahead of us. It was in October when me and...
