It was a Friday night. The power went out about 6:15 (which was 1 second BEFORE the women next door gave birth - Never thought I'd be glad to still have a couple hours to go yet! Monday, April 18, 2011. How do you garden in straw? I wondered the same thing in 2009 when saw a Straw Bale Gardening class in my local community education booklet! I knew nothing about growing veggies or preparing the soil so figured I had nothing to lose and everything to gain! Boy was I right! The instructor walked us through the whole process from beginning to end and by the end of the three hour session I had the motivation and knowledge to start my own straw bale garden. Can do it, anyone can!
