My globe is small, after all. Follow me on Twitter. Find me on Tumblr. Frijoles Borrachos warms the spirit. November 2, 2014. Middot; by ramblingprose. We had a cold snap blow in on Halloween night, with temperatures hovering at freezing after a day in the 70s. Time to pull out the slow cooker and make something hearty to warm body and soul. This morning, I awoke to the savory smell of the frijoles borrachos and I knew it would be a good day. 1 tablespoon kosher salt. 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh ground pepper.

My globe is small, after all. Follow me on Twitter. Find me on Tumblr. Building on a flavor profile with figs. July 30, 2014. Middot; by ramblingprose. I made fig jam and fig preserves with lemon, ginger and cinnamon to give the flavor a little lift, and after eating, cooking or canning dozens of jars of the mellow fruit, I decided I wanted to step it up a little and enhance the flavor profile. Lici’s Fig Chutney. 2 cups apple cider vinegar. 3/4 cup red wine (I used cabernet sauvignon). Zest of 1 lemon.

My globe is small, after all. Follow me on Twitter. Find me on Tumblr. Vegan potluck and a killer dessert. December 21, 2015. Middot; by ramblingprose. There’s a local group for vegans and vegetarians (or anyone else who wants to hang out), and we try to get together once a month to hang out, eat and talk about food. We used to go to restaurants, but lately we seem to have gravitated more toward potlucks recently. One of the group leaders saw a […]. Minestrone for the soul. January 2, 2015. I like to mak...

I love the bright color of steamed greens, and they look perfect on a holiday or party table with a variety of hors d’ouevres. I made this batch of pesto for an art reception. It went over well with vegans and non-vegans alike. 1 pound fresh turnip greens, chopped. 1/4 cup toasted pecans. 1 teaspoon kosher salt. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. You are...

Turnip green and cannellini empanadas with salsa. I spent most of the day yesterday out at festivals and other events, so I decided to stay home last night. I occasionally look forward to a quiet evening at home. For the recipe, I will put everything in the right order! Turnip green and cannellini empanada. 3 cups whole wheat flour. Filli...

The Rambling Professional | Attempted unbiased purge of the silliness and doubts in me.
Attempted unbiased purge of the silliness and doubts in me. Asymp; Leave a comment. In the long run, this does not matter,. The wisps shall fade, blown away and burnt in the sun,. A look back, a long peer shall bring a whiff of memory,. I may frown trying to see these days, I may cringe, or I may smile. But I shall definitely say – that too has passed, and I, remain well. Asymp; Leave a comment. What is the best job in the world? While I refer to stand up comedy in particular since I am thinking from an ...

The Rambling Prophet
Rambling thoughts about theology and ministry. Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Living a Prayerful Life. I have taken quite a significant turn in the material I have been reading as of late, and Andrew Murray is a "new" author that I have enjoyed immensely. I have had a craving for more spiritually intellectual material and Murray strikes that balance very well. It is one part devotional material and one part theology, both playing off one another in a divine soliloquy. Its worth it; eternally worth it.

A highly irregular blog for no purpose whatsoever. Well, except for causing an occasional giggle or two. Or maybe a stray rational thought might appear. But don't count on it. Sunday, May 4, 2014. An Exegesis of Romans 7:14-8:4. Ever watched a zombie movie? Zombies are critters who used to be people, but they died from some sort of disease, usually contracted by getting bit by a zombie. Rambling Puzzles
Monday, August 4, 2008. In an effort to reduce the time I spend on the computer, I'm cutting back on some of the things I do online. One of the tough choices was Rambling Puzzles, but I've decided to stop after today's puzzle. It is also the 200th one, so it seems like a nice ending point. I want to thank all the visitors to this site who made it so enjoyable for me. Your comments have put smiles on my face, and you are the reason I kept this site up for as long I did. Thank you! It’s happening soon. A week from now well six days from now I am going to be thirty. Have you been here do you know the feelings? It’s so many thoughts and emotions continuously popping up. I am excited I am nervous, I anxious, I am sad, I am old? It’s just a day, it’s my day, why doesn’t anyone care about me? How did I get so far off track? Am I going to find myself at 30 something? Am I a loser or am I successful? Am I proud of myself? Do I want a baby in my thirties? Will I ever have a wedding? Why am...

Writing books for children. October 9, 2014. I have children of my own and although my writing so far and future planned projects are for an adult audience I came across a Groupon deal the other day that I thought I would take up. To be honest I don’t really have time to take on anything else but I am glad I have made time for this and what’s more there isn’t a time limit on when it should be completed, you just trot along at your own pace. I need more notebooks I really do. So please don’t see tak...
