My Musings

Saturday, February 11, 2012. States’ Rights: The Issue for 2012 and Beyond. Bringing these ideas fully into reality requires a power greater than any tyranny we have seen: any move from the citizens that does not pass through the rulers’ calculations runs a high risk of derailing the system to some extent: eating more than one has been allotted, buying a product one is not allowed to have, disparaging the ruler to other citizens. Many American politicians act like Philosopher Kings, not representatives.

My Musings: January 2011

Friday, January 14, 2011. My Theory I - Right to Life, Equality. I have lots of related ideas floating around in my head. I am going to try to develop them logically here. For all these posts, I am talking about responsible adults. My theory logically starts with the right to life. A friend asked me, 'What is the right to life? And I didn't know well enough to answer her. So I want to think about that here. Let's take a second to think about what rights a person has or ought to have. Autonomy.

Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Anti-Wealth, Barbara Boxer's Senate Speech. Yesterday, United States Senator Barbara Boxer, D-California, said in her speech that, ‘Since 1985, the wealthiest 400 Americans have seen their taxes fall by 40%, while their average incomes quadrupled.’. However, we should consider whether the lower taxes allowed them to produce higher incomes. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Anti-Wealth, Barbara Boxers Senate Speech.

My Musings: October 2010

Wednesday, October 6, 2010. Banks and (Other) Corportations. Something just occurred to me, and I wonder what you think of it. It seems the liberals and Washington are talking from two perspectives on what is really one issue. Are we in favor of big corporations or not? We bail out the banks. You might say, 'Well, "our" banks are the foundation of doing business in the US.' We also bailed out GM, and we have many non-GM cars all over the country. And, therefore, evil. Credenhill Park Wood Photos. Rambling and bimbling around Herefordshire: mostly Credenhill Wood. July in the Woods. August 10, 2015. If I had to describe the British woods in July with one word, it would be “green”. Everything is just so … green. Well, okay it isn’t just green. There are lots of woodland flowers in bloom at the moment. These are really testing my amateur flower ID skills, so please do let me know if I have got them wrong! First up, St John’s Wort,. Real Estate, Central Austin highlights, and maybe a little humor. Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Why is my pecan tree dying and what is eating my plants? 65279;. Lots of dead branches. What could it be? And scheduled an arborist named Nevil to come and talk to John about the tree. For our western facing windows. Was launched into action. I now have “three watering holes” for the squirrels (and birds) and will report on any noticable change in behavior. The squirrels love to lounge here. 2,264 for ...
