August 16, 2015. Down the alley-street behind our building in big wet sheets, rinsing the dust, dirt, and grime of a summer down onto the main drag. It pools and swirls around sewer grates, sticks, rocks, and barricades. Oh, gross, it must be sewer water! Though it doesn't smell like a sewer, I guess. I guess? It's two days later, and I'm cleaning. I pull out the scrub brush, get out my vinegar and baking soda, and turn on the faucet. Glug. Sputter. Glug. No water. No water! I strain to catch a glimpse.

Thursday, July 30, 2015. The kids had a complete blast. I was pretty impressed that everyone (even Christian) played all 10 frames of the game. Nobody got bored. Bowling with kids has improved quite a bit through the years. Now there are built-in bumpers AND these ramp-things for the ball, so they kid basically just has to push it down a metal ramp and off it goes. So funny. Christian was surprised EVERY TIME the ball popped up again on the conveyor belt. A toddler in bowling shoes? White Brown and Beige.

If FIFA had acted half as swiftly as it did on Suarez on allegations of corruption against itself, then there wouldn't be hundreds of workers dying in Qatar as well. But who am I to judge the all-powerful FIFA right? Should we really be surprised? The carrot or the stick? Would FIFA have been better off by banning Suarez from playing football and instead arranging for him to attend therapy?

In welcoming September, the littles and I made applesauce and apple banana bread. We used The Pioneer Woman's. Recipe to make our applesauce. For applesauce lovers, this is a must try! Next, I had some bananas that were beginning to turn brown, and from where I now had some extra applesauce on hand we also made apple banana bread.
