Thoughts and experiences abound. July 5, 2012. Image by jakeandlindsay via Flickr. So who decides to start a blog during the holidays. I’m not thinking about school. I’m enjoying spending time with my boys, we have fabulous weather and I’m happy not doing too much of anything specific. How does that make sense? I’m sure anyone who teaches knows what this means, time for yourself. It is the attempt to stop your brain thinking about your job. Because when you teach you are always thinking abo...Well that&#...

100 Word Challenge – Ramblingsfromacountryteacher

https://ramblingsfromacountryteacher.wordpress.com/2013/02/17/100-word-challenge

Thoughts and experiences abound. February 17, 2013. I have undertaken to use this blog more this year to reflect on and share what I am doing with my class. So this post is hopefully fulfilling that brief. The 100 word challenge. Is something I have been aware of for a while. But in between all the different things we were doing as a class last year, including the Kids4farmers. Project, CWA Country of Study projects. 1) It would give a writing task for the whole class. To introduce the 100 word challenge...

Thoughts and experiences abound. January 22, 2013. Long time between posts. Image by Dalo Pix2 via Flickr. So I haven’t been a very good blogger. 7 months since my last and only post is bad. Very bad. Part of the problem is time, as it always is. We have had a class blog, a shared collaborative blog and of course life itself. The other part of the problem may have been intent. Why was I blogging? Fingers crossed it works out that way. This entry was tagged mea culpa. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Liberals ...

The thoughts of an Australian educator living and breathing teaching and learning. What does Civics and Citizenship look like in a Year 5 classroom? March 17, 2013. March 17, 2013. Ramblings For The Occupation Of Time

Ramblings For The Occupation Of Time. Thursday, October 16, 2008. Okay, here goes. So, I secured a house for my family to rent over Christmas. It is in Sandbridge, VA, which is about 45 minutes from here. I'm pretty excited about this Christmas. My brother and Steve are supposed to come down and my grandma might make the trip. It is shaping up to be one of the biggest and best holidays of the past 5 or 6 years. Our baby bongo are doing great. My pictures of them made it into the paper. Okay, here goes.

Ramblings from A Bird

Ramblings from A Bird. Saturday, April 14, 2012. A Single Excellent Night. While reading one of my most favourite books - Majjhima Nikaya (The Middle Length Discourses of The Buddha), I came across one of my all times favourites verses which I would like to share today:. Let not a person revive the past. Or on the future build his hopes. For the past has been left behind. And the future has not been reached. Instead with insight let him see. Each presently arisen state. Invincibly, unshakeably,. People w...
