Ramblings From the Bench

Ramblings From the Bench. Friday, December 23, 2016. Meet John Garrett, the newest Leopard. John Garrett, Lafayettes new head football coach, receives a Lafayette cap from athletic director Bruce McCutcheon. (Photo courtesy of Lafayette Sports). Like a brand new car being driven away from the showroom for the first time, Garrett may never look better than he did Wednesday. After all, he has yet to make one decision that will rustle the feathers of some Leopards “fan.” Squeaky clean...Sure, there’...

Ramblings From the Bench: Lafayette sports history II: 2 1/2 months later

http://ramblingsfromthebench.blogspot.com/2016/11/lafayette-sports-history-ii-2-12-months.html

Ramblings From the Bench. Thursday, November 3, 2016. Lafayette sports history II: 2 1/2 months later. To quote the immortal Oliver Hardy (invariably speaking to buddy Stan Laurel): “Well, here’s another nice mess you’ve gotten me into.”. That was my initial reaction to the internal release from Lafayette College early this week that it would hire a consulting firm to conduct a six-month “ thorough review. 8221; and come up with “ precise recommendations. 8221; for a “ shared strategic direction. Today&#...

Ramblings From the Bench: August 2016

http://ramblingsfromthebench.blogspot.com/2016_08_01_archive.html

Ramblings From the Bench. Monday, August 29, 2016. A wish list for Lafayette's Friday night opener at CCSU. Can  C.J. Amill get Lafayettes football season off to a fast start Friday night? Some things I’d like to see Friday night in. New Britain, Conn., where Lafayette opens the 2016 football season against Central Connecticut State and hopes to break a six-game losing streak it carries over from last year:. Id settle for a punt return TD. Im not greedy, am I? Just watch him fly. Thursday, August 25, 2016.

Ramblings From the Bench: A Leopard in the postseason: Chris Brockman

http://ramblingsfromthebench.blogspot.com/2016/11/a-leopard-in-postseason-chris-brockman.html

Ramblings From the Bench. Friday, November 25, 2016. A Leopard in the postseason: Chris Brockman. Lafayette is in the playoffs! Well, not exactly, but on the first weekend of a long offseason after another frustrating year on College Hill, I decided to go looking for some good news. I found it by way of Colorado School of Mines, a Division II program that is playing in the NCAA Division II quarterfinals this weekend. Do you know who the starting "Leo" linebacker is for Mines? The 225-pound Texan, who und...

Ramblings From the Bench: May 2016

http://ramblingsfromthebench.blogspot.com/2016_05_01_archive.html

Ramblings From the Bench. Tuesday, May 31, 2016. So long, Indy, it's been good to know you. The media room begins to fill up on race day. When I first started coming to the Indianapolis 500 in 1966, I thought, someday, Id like to work in that place, meaning the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He had been at IMS 33 years before I got to USAC in the summer of 1978, and I figured that if he decided to retire (he was already 72), Id apply for his job. . I never knew, when I accepted my first collect call to The...

Ramblings from the Attic. 21 Day Fix Extreme – My Journey to Health. My 21 Day Fix Extreme Challenge. April 27, 2015. Today is the first day of my nutrition/fitness regimen. I’m going to be doing the 21 Day Fix Extreme Challenge with an old friend from high school, Kelly Ardillo Carroccia. She’s a Team Beachbody Coach and over the past year has lost 42 pounds, all with 13 herniated discs in her back! I’m only 44 years old. I shouldn’t be walking like I’m 90. And that’s how it starts. Thank you ...In Apri...

Ramblings From The 'Back Of The Bunch'

Ramblings From The 'Back Of The Bunch'. Thursday, 3 November 2011. It's That Time Again! For some reason I totally forgot about this 'blog, I guess it's due to my advancing years, as I was 46 last month. Well, threr's been quite a few races, both road and fell, since my inaugural entries to this site. However, the 'Harriers verses Cyclists' is coming round again - very fast! In fact, as I type, it's only a 'week on Saturday'. Now, the big question for me is. 'Do I ride it, or run it this year? As the rac...

Ramblings from the Back Row

Ramblings from the Back Row. Musings and rantings on all that matters and all that doesn't. Sunday, July 5, 2015. Too much time has slipped away. For me to lose one more day. Waiting around for you to see. The path back to me. Not getting any younger. Not getting any stronger. And maybe a little slower. Gotten used to being alone. That doesn't mean my seed's been sown. Still have something left to give. If you'll just let me live. Brown hair turning to grey. Every morning's two pills a day. On the profes...

Ramblings from the bathroom floor

Ramblings from the bathroom floor. Adventures in Dating Land. The Time I Saw Green. At first, it felt like it happened quickly – almost like smacking into a large rock, face first. It was abrasive, jarring and seemed to come out of nowhere. Suddenly, I was surrounded and I couldn’t shake it off. I felt tattooed and no amount of scrubbing would take away the green stain. How had I not seen the individual rocks forming to make one giant obstacle all while I watched on, oblivious to its formation? As I look...

Ramblings From The BergerHouse

Ramblings From The BergerHouse. An ongoing rambling from the Berger household.hopefully sharing our experiences with raising a family and enjoying life in general. Friday, February 17, 2012. Today was a big day of accomplishments for Landon, my little sweetheart. He got a lot better at sitting and he rolled over for the first time! I had been feeling badly because I didn't think Landon was getting the same experiences with Belle as Bryce had. Today I made sure they got some good quality time together.

Ramblings from the Boot

Ramblings from the Boot. I'm a web designer/developer and a lover of theme parks - give me a coaster and i'm happy! This blog is rarely updated, but when it is, expect trip reports from the parks we visit, and generally letting off of steam from my work as a web widgeter. Monday, December 11, 2006. Has it been that long? Less hours in January (currently doing 47 hours for 16k), as it's killing me, and i can't afford to live. Changing to a happier subject, I've had a fun time doing all. Yes, the wife did ...

Ramblings from the Complex Mind of a 20 Something | Now rambling about my explorations of the Montreal restaurant scene… and elsewhere

Now rambling about my explorations of the Montreal restaurant scene… and elsewhere. Ramblings from the Complex Mind of a 20 Something. We were at a pub after all so a drink is a must. Given the presence of some speciality cocktails on the menu, we decided to try a couple. First was the Zen – Sake, Midori and Lychee Juice. Very strong on the Lychee side of things which worked for my girlfriend but not so much for me. The Tako Kimchi or octopus and cucumber with spicy kimchi sauce was less successful. ...
