Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Charlie, the Wannabe Eagle. Photo by Jacob Hoff. Charlie, hanging out in a spruce tree on a summer's day, dreaming of soaring like an eagle. Monday, June 25, 2012. The Kenai Runs Silent. Devastating low King Salmon returns caused the State of Alaska Fish and Game to close the Kenai River to King Salmon sport fishing last Friday. It was eerily silent at the popular river in the pouring rain today. Rose Hips drenched along the banks of the Kenai River. Wednesday, June 20, 2012.

Life on the Open Road: July 2014
http://lifeontheopenroad.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Life on the Open Road. The continuing adventures of a fulltime RVer. Thursday, July 31, 2014. Well, maybe a wee bit. There's a great trail that starts out from the Visitor's Center, and goes up the mountain. In the past I've been able to go a mile or so before the trail was snow covered and I had to turn around. But this year has had record snowfall, so we'll see. So far, so good. And we even have some nice company on the trail. There are Western Anemones -. This is a photo from when I was here in 2006.

Life on the Open Road. The continuing adventures of a fulltime RVer. Sunday, May 31, 2015. A Capitol Tour in Des Moines. After we got our new drivers licenses, Phil and I rejoined the WINs in Des Moines, IA. Of course, the first thing on the agenda was to go see the capitol. We were unable to sign up for a tour ahead of time, but were pleasantly surprised that we had no trouble getting one when we got there. The mosaics were made in Venice from small pieces of colored stone. The owner was a very nice guy...

Life on the Open Road: December 2014

Life on the Open Road. The continuing adventures of a fulltime RVer. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. In a Helicopter WITH THE DOORS OFF! Who would do such a crazy thing? Well, us of course! We chose to go with Mauna Loa Helicopters, because the helicopters were smaller, so everyone got a window seat. And you had a choice of whether to have the doors on or off. We chose OFF! We also flew over an ATV course. Then on to many more waterfalls. I love the pools under each of the falls. Another shot of the falls.

My life is not so rough, it only feels that way sometimes. I'm preparing for a lifestyle change. I want to be full-time in RV by March of 2012. It will be me and the 2 goofy dogs. On the road, to see North America. THE BIG DEPARTURE CHECK LIST. Monday, May 31, 2010. In with the Good Air, Out with the bad. The nice thing I woke up to is a show on HGTV called RV 2010. Life on the Open Road: March 2015
http://lifeontheopenroad.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Life on the Open Road. The continuing adventures of a fulltime RVer. Tuesday, March 31, 2015. After a pretty boring winter, where I was not inspired to blog, I'm finally back to traveling. My first stop was Sedona. I decided to spend some big bucks while there and go on an exciting day trip. This plane was the first leg. The plane will hold 9 passengers, plus the pilot, but there were only 2 couples and myself on this flight. Taking off from the Sedona Airport, there are some great views. But not so fast!
