READ with Boomer: April 2013

http://www.readwithboomer.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Sunday, April 21, 2013. Mommy scheduled our summer reading sessions with Miss Carmella at the library. Can you believe June is already filled and only a couple of slots are left for July? We won't be back again until after Labor Day. Seems I will be getting a new doghouse after all. Mommy said something about moving in mid-July, but if my current doghouse sells sooner than that, we'll be at grandma's for the summer. She lives far away, so you'll only see me when it's time to READ. Boomer the READing Dog.

READ with Boomer: March 2013

http://www.readwithboomer.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 7, 2013. Come R.E.A.D. with me! If you want to read to me before school lets out, you need to call Miss Carmella NOW to sign up for a time? The only date left with any slots available is April 17th. The library takes a break from programming in May, so we won't be R.E.A.D.ing in May. Mommy is working with Miss Carmella on our summer reading schedule. She's thinking about scheduling even more. Mommy said something about a new doghouse. What do you think that means? Boomer the READing Dog.

Stitchy Clubs for Kids. Quilting Magazines – Where have they gone? June 18, 2016. Normally, I conduct a major studio purge every June. I tidy up in between projects, but leave the major weeding (the official library term for culling old and no longer needed items) and reorganizing until I am off for summer break. I skipped last summer because I was in the process of changing jobs and needed to devote my… Continue reading Quilting Magazines – Where have they gone? June 13, 2016. Middot; Kid's Sewing.

Stitchy Clubs for Kids. A point to ponder. May 10, 2015. May 10, 2015. Don’t wait for the perfect set of circumstances before starting. What you create is more important than where you make it. Doing something to help a few is better than not doing anything at all. Stumbling along the way is better than failing to take that first step. Someone recently sent me this quote and it’s so timely. So it’s down to the studio to continue working on a student’s t-shirt quilt. Here’s to Sunday stitching! Build a we...

Fed pumping not having success here! 08/13/2015 at 6:50 am, filed under Copper. CLICK ON CHART TO ENLARGE. Rumor has it that the Fed has been pumping money into the economy, hoping to get some growth and inflate a few different assets. The two charts above look at Crude Oil and Copper, going back 20-years for each asset. Some will say that stocks are near all-time highs due to the QE programs, when it comes to these assets, neither is close to all-time highs. Will it be different this time? The ratio fel...

A blog for parents, teachers, and all readers to share ideas about reading and books. Tuesday, February 8, 2011. Long Time No Blog. I welcome my classmates from EDU 566. I started this blog as a project for another class I took in our program. I used it for a while and have it linked to a page I have on my school library wiki. To start I will share a book I recently read for myself, but would recommend it to younger readers perhaps eighth grade and up. Another wonderful book I read recently was. Last yea...

Read with Dara – Reading tutor for K-3 children in Walnut Creek, CA

I am a Walnut Creek. Native, born and raised. I didn't venture too far for college and when I returned home I lived and worked as a teacher in San Francisco. Now that I have a family, I am happy to be back in Walnut Creek. I have truly come full circle! Which not only allowed me to work with struggling readers one-on-one (as it is designed), but it changed the way I looked at and taught reading in the classroom. Targeted reading instruction based on the needs of your child. In general I am offering a lim...
