Yes, it was hot, but it was so nice to be checked into a hotel by 2:00! We were able to do laundry and my attitude and outlook is much improved. Today was much needed and it's amazing how much better I feel! I couldn't believe it! We made the town "news" so to speak! I saw you two in another town over! It's fascina...

Riding for a Reason: June 2011

http://www.ridingforareason-melissa.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Riding for a Reason. Surly Long Haul Trucker. My ride to the beach! Monday, June 13, 2011. Day 6 – Richmond to Yorktown – 101.7 miles - Success! I always set two alarms. One for the time I need to get up, and one for 30 minutes before that. I hate the snooze button. The 5 or 10 more minutes that comes with a snooze is just a tease, but I love thinking I have 30 more minutes! Please be less than 20 miles. It would be great if it was single digits. No…it can’t be single digits. Is that a 3 or and 8? I came...

I was worried because I had felt so bad yesterday morning and I wasn't sure how Imy legs would be today. I couldn't believe how great I felt, even better than on day one! It hurt, it was a long climb, and my muscles were screaming, but it was amazing! Three miles down.talk about getting the blood going! The first thing I did when...

Riding for a Reason. Surly Long Haul Trucker. My ride to the beach! Thursday, May 16, 2013. Florida - Day 5 - Fayetteville, NC to Bennettsville, SC - 61.90 miles. Today was tough. It was our first day with real heat and it got up to 92 degrees. The terrain we are riding through doesn't have much shade and after yesterday's 80 miles, it was a bit of a challenge to say the least. All in all it was a good day, basically we are just beat. The biggest news of all is that we hit South Carolina! No What can we ...

Riding for a Reason. Surly Long Haul Trucker. My ride to the beach! Monday, July 12, 2010. What is this for? Back in the beginning of May 2010, I made a comment on Facebook that if all of my friends donated $1.50 then I would be able to get my dream bike for my birthday (May 5th). It was a joke and I we had a good laugh here at work about it. The next thing I knew people were bringing me money and a Facebook page had been started to raise money for the bike! Well, the truth is that I feel like I have liv...
