Riding For Charles: June 13, 2007 (Day 4)

http://www.ridingforcharles.blogspot.com/2007/06/june-13-2007.html

Wednesday, June 13, 2007. June 13, 2007 (Day 4). Today's ride was from Globe AZ to Springerville, AZ. Phew! A tough day. It was all about climbing, climbing and more climbing. We began the day at 3700 feet in elevation and climbed to 6500 feet in the first 24 miles. We then descended into Salt River Canyon. It's incredibly beautiful - sort of like a mini Grand Canyon. Of course, when you ride to the bottom of a canyon, you have to climb out! View my complete profile. The Savannah Morning News.

http://www.ridingforcharles.blogspot.com/2007/06/june-21-2007-day-9-10-11-and-12.html

Thursday, June 21, 2007. June 21, 2007 (Day 9, 10, 11 and 12). Hello from Batesville, Mississippi! Sorry to have missed a few days, but with the riding schedule and Rachel's vacation schedule, we keep doing our best. On day 9 we rode across OK into Ada. One thing we all noticed out on the road that day was that there were a lot of tarantulas, turtles and armadillos. I guess I never knew there were so many tarantulas in OK! I send my deepest gratitude and appreciation for all the cards and emails I've rec...

http://www.ridingforcharles.blogspot.com/2007/06/june-23-2007.html

Saturday, June 23, 2007. June 23, 2007. Down-time in the evening is precious because there's not much of it. After getting all my gear organized, getting cleaned up, and getting some dinner, it's nearly time to go to sleep. Just as I'm falling asleep, I'm having those same thoughts of "how am I going to get back on the bike in the morning". All too soon, the alarm goes off and it's another day. 1 – 200 of 207   Newer›. 160; Newest». August 22, 2009 at 12:18 PM. August 23, 2009 at 11:08 AM. さびしい女性や&#12289...

Friday, June 8, 2007. As I have indicated on my website, I originally decided I'd do this ride before Charles Barr's tragic accident. People mostly do rides like these as a test of self. George's Cross Country Bike Ride: 6/3/07 - 6/10/07

http://georgemetzler.blogspot.com/2007_06_03_archive.html

George's Cross Country Bike Ride. Saturday, June 9, 2007. Arrival in San Diego. I arrived on time in San Diego with my luggage and bicycle intact. So far I'm 3 for 3. I put my bike together as soon as I arrived this morning and I rode to the beach with another PAC Tour rider Harold Trease. Harold has spent the last 7 summers at this time of year officiating the Race Across America. I expect this will be a real change for him. Sunday, June 3, 2007. Cross Country schedule and links. Welcome to my blog that...

George's Cross Country Bike Ride. Saturday, June 16, 2007. Day 7 Roswell, NM to Hereford, TX. 164 miles today and the RAAM. Qualifier dream is alive. Today is the seventh day of our tour and the effects of six hard days of riding were showing this morning. Cyclist's moved a bit slower and were a little quieter at breakfast. Once we left the hotel parking lot the the order of the day was pretty much Git-R-Done. The scenery. A bit of explanation. Is also doing this ride and for the last week I haven't seen...

George's Cross Country Bike Ride: Day 15 Camden, AL to Eufaulo, AL

George's Cross Country Bike Ride. Sunday, June 24, 2007. Day 15 Camden, AL to Eufaulo, AL. Day 15 is in the can, and we have just two days to go. It is hard to believe that just two weeks ago we were in San Diego, CA. At that time I knew about three people on this ride. After an intense two weeks we recognize each other in the distance solely. By how we pedal the bike. Learned a lot from the other cyclists on this trip. It was weary 152 miles today mostly due to the three H's. Tendon is fine. I need ...

George's Cross Country Bike Ride. Monday, June 25, 2007. Day 16 Eufaulo, AL to Dublin, GA. For 16 days the real world has been held at bay. I haven't been to work, seen my family, or went to Church. My biggest responsibility each day is to get my bag packed and loaded into the Pac. Tour trailer within a 10 minute time slot. It was a great day to be on the bike, good riding buddies, no rain, and no crashes. Qualifier dream remains alive! If you get this before Tue.'s ride, Go Get Em! I have really enjoyed...

George's Cross Country Bike Ride. Friday, June 22, 2007. Day 13 Batesville, MS to Forest, MS. Lon taped up my ankle again this morning and I was good to go all day. The tape takes all the stress away from the achillies. Tendon. I can't walk very well but I sure can ride again. I saw a motorcycle. Excellent support again from the PAC Tour staff and crew members as we deal with the heat and humidity. So far so good. See you all tomorrow. Do you not know? Have you not heard? George's Cross Country Bike Ride. Saturday, June 23, 2007. Day 14 Forest,MS to Camden, MS. What is it like to ride an average of 170 miles everyday for 17 days? I don't know because I only ride from one sag stop to the next. About every 20 to 35 miles we get to stop and get treats. So I never start out the day thinking that I'm going to ride 170 miles. I just look at my Que sheet and look for an asterisk next to a mileage number, that means goodies for George! My friend Eric posted a really cool passage ...

I don't have the ability to convey the emotions I felt as we completed the last few miles. This adventure answered some questions and provoked a few more. Riding for a Reason. Surly Long Haul Trucker. My ride to the beach! Thursday, May 16, 2013. Florida (or wherever) - Day 6 - Bennetsville, SC to Florence, SC - 36.92 miles. What a relaxing day! Riding for a Reason. Changing the world, one mile at a time. The 2010 Training Season is under way! I’m back and I’m ready to take on the world! It’s been a quiet several months. Winter is always slow to retreat for the year up here in Wisconsin, so often when it’s nice enough to ride in the spring, the southern winds like to push my bike from side to side. This is the story (we hope it won’t turn out to be a saga) of an unlikely group of people who are going to cycle from London to Venice in July/August 2010 to raise money for the Royal Marsden Hospital.
