August 16, 2010. Books We've Been Enjoying. My sister has six boys and recommended this book to me. I'm always looking for ideas on how to keep my boys busy doing something worthwhile and this was a great solution. It provides both mental stimulation and hands on learning. There's also one for girls called. The Daring Book for Girls. I've enjoyed reading these (both true stories):. August 10, 2010. March 30, 2010. For a variety a reasons, including a major home remodeling project, Brad and I decided to split up for Spring Break like we did last year. The boys were really looking forward to another ski trip in Utah and so off they went. I was really excited for them have their 2nd annual "mancation" as Spencer calls it. June 12, 2010. Exhilarate - to make (someone) feel very happy, animated, or elated. Few things exhilarate me more than getting organized. I love to have a place for my stuff. On the flip side, few things make me feel as frustrated as being unorganized. And that's exactly how I've felt since moving here two years ago. For a year and a half, we were renting, so I kept pushing the anxiety aside, realizing I couldn't really do a long term fix until we had a permanent residence. Here are some of my favorites:.

July 25, 2011. There something about having a toddler that keeps life magical. Maybe it's because everything seems so new for them and every time they achieve a milestone it's so exciting. Ruby is now learning to sleep in a big bed. I love that when I lay down by her, she copies what I do. I'll cross my arms and see her doing the same thing out of the corner of my eye. I'll take a deep breath and then hear her do the same. I love how she perks up when it's time to go swimming and looks for her swim suit.

On the way into the appointment, her foot got caught in the van door, and was bruised and swollen by the time we made it up the elevator. Fortunately, nothing was broken and she's fine. February 26, 2010. One of my favorite things about visiting Phoenix in the winter is all the fruit trees. I love that people can just walk outside and pick lemons, grapefruits, and oranges and have freshly squeezed juice from their own yard. Jenny and Brett sent us home with a suitcase full of lemons, so Lucy and I got to work and surprised the boys with fresh lemonade. They were thrilled. I love the fragrance of cut lemon peels smelling up the kitchen. Mmmmm. Thank you Miss Julie for inspiring my boy!

April 30, 2010. Ruby's "routine" visit for immunizations turned into quite a dramatic affair. On the way into the appointment, her foot got caught in the van door, and was bruised and swollen by the time we made it up the elevator. So, instead of getting shots, Ruby got an ice pack and an order for x-rays at the local children's hospital.
