Diary of a Tanguera (Malta): Dancing Without The Tango Stars
http://www.diaryofatanguera.com/2014/05/dancing-without-tango-stars.html
Wednesday, 21 May 2014. Dancing Without The Tango Stars. I was just going to put a normal status update with this video on the “Diary of a Tanguera” Facebook page as I usually would, but I have to have a rant about this, so here I am with a post. No – actually, NOT sorry – this has to be said. As you can see, this performance receives a full-on standing ovation, and has the judges hailing it as “magical” and “perfection”. Can anyone explain to me which part of this was actually Argentine Tango? Tango Esc...

Diary of a Tanguera (Malta): Palermo Tango Festival & Marathon 2013
http://www.diaryofatanguera.com/2013/03/palermo-tango-festival-marathon-2013.html
Tuesday, 12 March 2013. Palermo Tango Festival and Marathon 2013. So, yup, off I went to the Palermo Tango Festival & Marathon last month. I’d never been to that part of the world before, so in itself that was an adventure, and flying over Mount Etna on the way is certainly something I’ll never forget. The 4 hour coach ride from the airport though. best not to go there. (N.B. I hate coaches! But these are the pleasures of a Tango-junkie! Miguel Angel Zotto and Daiana Guspero. Diary of a Tanguera (Malta): July 2013

Wednesday, 17 July 2013. Making the cut at El Corte IW 2013. Tango is everywhere right now. Have you noticed? In my avoidance of writing this post, it was as if the world around me conspired to nag me to do it. A trip to the shops locally displayed pictures of couples dancing Tango in the photo frames for sale. Another shop had the Tango-typical asymmetric hemlines and fashions. And Italian TV covered the European Tango Championships, so an innocent channel flick reminded me yet again. But I was Alice, h...

Diary of a Tanguera (Malta): May 2013

Tuesday, 7 May 2013. Attack of the Maestros. It’s a bit of a juxtaposition, this writing a Tango blog malarkey. To write about Tango, I must dance it and experience it as often as possible; but if I’m doing that, then when do I write about it? Let’s see now, where did I leave off last? It was so refreshing to be taught something new in that arena, when so often we are doomed to learn the same steps over and over again. And I so love dancing milonga. Posted by Pantera Tanguera. Diary of a Tanguera (Malta): December 2013

Wednesday, 4 December 2013. The Beast and the Best. Tango is a strange beast. As I’m sure I mentioned on here before, it has been responsible for, or flew alongside, some of the most significant events of my life. I’m also sure you’re aware that I feel a sense of responsibility towards it as a result. Only Tangueros will understand this, but, somehow when dancing – and learning to dance – this beautiful thing called Tango, one feels a sense of being gifted with something precious. Yes I’m aware tha...
