Took the last batch of tomato sauce and decided to make a meal of it. Garlic, kosher salt, olive oil, brown sugar, then out to the herb garden for marjoram and basil. To amuse myself (sometimes I do) I brought in a couple of very large catnip leaves. Now, a lot of people, given such a raw material, will smush it up and rub it on the couch, but how pedestrian is that?

Musings from Osage Acres: July 2008

http://osageacres.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

Musings from Osage Acres. Reflections, food and everyday life here on Osage. Thursday, July 31, 2008. Share of damage from both tornadoes and severe thunderstorms this year. Soon the grass will hibernate and the gardens will need to be watered for them to survive. For now though it's a time of beauty in the gardens. This beautiful female Black Swallowtail visited our lantanas this morning. I also enjoyed the Cosmos and captured their beauty too. That picture is below in this post. Wednesday, July 30, 2008.

Musings from Osage Acres. Reflections, food and everyday life here on Osage. Friday, February 29, 2008. Such a big deal is being made about Leap Year. Stores are running specials for the "special"day. I don't get it. The Today Show was talking about it, Nebraska Furniture Market was running a commercial and McDonald's has a breakfast special for this day only. I don't see today as being any different than any other. Oh well. Got lots to think about this morning during my walk. Thursday, February 28, 2008.

Monday, August 10, 2009. 3-3 1/2 cups King Arthur Bread Flour. 1 tablespoon white sugar. 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (I use Red Star in the jar). 1 cup water 120-130 degrees. 2 tablespoon canola oil. http://osageacres.blogspot.com/2011/07/joy.html

Musings from Osage Acres. Reflections, food and everyday life here on Osage. Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Lyrics from one of the songs I posted yesterday included the lines:. But I can find joy in the sound of the rain. You have to find joy where you can". A few things I find joy in right now:. I spend more time watching the animals. Fish are actually relaxing to watch. Who knew? I'll keep adding to this list, but I'm done for now. I have a kitten that wants attention. Nothing is more relaxing then ha...I'm a...

http://osageacres.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Musings from Osage Acres. Reflections, food and everyday life here on Osage. Friday, October 31, 2008. I took the kids to the Deanna Rose Farmstead this morning about 45 minutes from our house. The temps were in the 70s today and it was gorgeous. Deanna Rose is a free history/botanical gardens/petting zoo/playground park. The place was pretty full with everyone enjoying the day out before the cold weather sets in. We walked about two miles total while we were there. Check out this link. Tonight we'll hav...

Musings from Osage Acres. Reflections, food and everyday life here on Osage. Sunday, August 31, 2008. It's always something isn't it? Today started out normal and easy going. I ended up working all morning in the nursery because we had several babies and not enough hands. The kids weren't too rowdy and I mostly cared for one particular handsome boy that was teething and wanted to be with someone rather than off doing his own thing. 6pm when we had a good idea of the mold and water damage. Yesterday Katie...

Musings from Osage Acres. Reflections, food and everyday life here on Osage. Wednesday, January 30, 2008. I'll be so thankful when everybody is well again. For now we keeping putting one foot in front of the other to get through this. The silver lining is that I paid cash for the dr copay and the medicine today. :). Sunday, January 27, 2008. And so it goes. Thursday, January 24, 2008. It's Thursday again and time to add up what we spent this week. The breakdown for the week looks like this:. I spent my m...

The Road Less Painted. Art and Ideas from a Traveling Artist. 15 months left . . . In all I had two credit card debts (one big and one small debt), a medical debt, and a contract fine from switching schools late in the summer. It totaled just over 12,000 dollars. As a teacher that’s a big number and it was going to take me close to two years. Not traveling for two years? How can I make that shorter? This entry was posted in Uncategorized. March 4, 2013. Tuesday, November 12, 2013. Herbal Tea Gelatin Gummies {Paleo Friendly, Clean Eating}. One of my new favorite ingredients/supplements to always keep in the kitchen is high quality (grass-fed) gelatin. Besides being a great source of pure protein, I also love that it has many other heath benefits that pretty much make it an awesome superfood! I also want to note that the brand of the gelatin you use is very important! As it is often on sale and I can usually find a coupon code to make the cost even lower!
