Advice from Pupils – The Road to Kakuma

https://theroadtokakuma.wordpress.com/2015/02/27/advice-from-pupils

The Road to Kakuma. February 27, 2015. February 27, 2015. I told them about the types of lessons we were preparing and asked for their advice. It’s amazing what happens when you show pupils that you value their opinions! These were year 5 pupils who were alternately outraged, empathetic, and energised. They suggested that I might like to take a camera which made me smile. I have promised to return with images and answer more questions. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

The Road to Kakuma. Aftermath. Kakuma Part 3. March 22, 2015. Aftermath to Kakuma part 3. It’s 30 hours since we left Kakuma and I’m finally home. I sit here, looking out over a lush, green garden. The sun is shining, and my children, having fleetingly greeted me, have returned to their gadgets and games and I’m left to reflect on what I’ve seen. Teaching in a Refugee Camp. Part 2. The Road to Kakuma. February 23, 2015. February 24, 2015. Today I had the pleasure of facilitaing ‘The Tree of Life’ at St John Fisher Catholic Voluntary Academy in Derby with 35 Year 3 students. The Tree of Life is a great approach to working with a range of ages who have experienced many challenges. It was co-developed through a partnership between REPSSI ( www.repssi.org. Overall it was a great day, and it felt like the students got a lot from the session. We hope to go back with images of their l...

The Road To Jannah

The Road To Jannah. Thursday, September 29, 2011. Beautiful Point of Benefit From Shaykh Rabee'. Shaikh Rabee' bin Hadee al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah) stated:. If this is not the case, then what pushes him to speak ill of Ahlis-Sunnah and its followers? Many from these fraudulent liars say to you: "I'm Salafi" and at the same time he's a liar. He only said this as a means of a plot (against the people of the Sunnah). The Munaafiq doesn't say: "I'm a Kaafir", or "I'm a Munaafiq and I hate Islaam." Rat...

The Road to Knowhere

The Road to Knowhere. Meanderings of life to who knows where. Friday, September 01, 2006. Our last day has arrived. Who would have thought it? To finish as we started Jon went out to the boulongerie and got a croissant and pain au chocolate each for us (everything seems better after a couple of pastries) and we had fresh coffee with it. The Road To Kona For A AG 45-50

The Road To Kona For A AG 45-50. When I started triathlon back in 2006 I had no idea of what it actually was. A friend suggested late in 2005 - at a pre-skiing party that we should do a full Ironman! I hardly knew what it was, but having ran a few (slow) marathons, I knew it would be a LOT of training and cause a lot of pain before, during and after! Thinking back I assume my reasons was (but is not sure.):. And finally - WHY NOT? Ride under 5:30 (Hilly ro...
