The Roaming Gnome: February 2012

http://theroaminggnome2011.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Thursday, February 9, 2012. Roamy came home yesterday. alittle worse for wear, bursting with stories of adventures near and far. I helped him unpack his treasures, and one is a bit of a mystery. If you've been following Roamy, you might recognize where these treasures came from. But the slot machine! He tells me his last stop was Reno, Nevada. But so far he's tight lipped. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas? Have you seen "The Hangover"? So I put him to work for the remainder of the evening. And findin...

The Roaming Gnome: March 2011

http://theroaminggnome2011.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 31, 2011. Roamy takes in Jefferson City -. The blacksmith and I. Took Roamy to town. Our first stop was the Jefferson Visitors Bureau. We visited the county courthouse, the old Missouri State Penitentiary (which we could have signed up for a ghost tour), it is open on certain days for tours. We stopped by the Governor's Mansion (where the gate talked to me). We went to Jefferson Landing where we found there was an iron exhibit (music to the blacksmith's ears, so we checked that out).

The Roaming Gnome: April 2011

http://theroaminggnome2011.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, April 9, 2011. Roamy on the Mackinac Bridge to the Land of the Yoopers. Because he is interested in becoming a bridge building engineer, Roamy spent a lot of time exploring the Mighty Mac (as the 5 mile-long suspension bridge connecting Michigan's two peninsulas is fondly called). The bridge connects the city of St. Ignace on the north end with the village of Mackinaw City on the south. He is such a precocious little gnome. How could Mr. Zoey resist a sweet face like that? Over the years the ci...

Tuesday, August 16, 2011. Roamy and Crew in Illinois! Roamy Stopped By the Police. The story about the police stopping us is true. Sunday morning dawned and it was going to be a beautiful day. We decided to take off and show Roamy. And family some of our town's attractions. Roamy. We had quite an adventure. As we approached the plant, Joe said, "Maybe you shouldn't take pictures here, Balisha. He went on kidding. Homeland Security might think you are a terrorist." We both chuckled. Roamy. After this enco...

Loess Is More: Lost at Sea

http://loessismore.blogspot.com/2011/09/lost-at-sea.html

Wednesday, September 07, 2011. Last weekend I met some friends in Townsend, GA which is about an hour south of me. We took their boat out to Sapelo Island to see a shipwreck that was washed ashore last spring. According to the locals, in 1910 the Spanish sailing ship, San Sont. Captained by Jose Esquerda and loaded with pine timber, sailed out of Jacksonville, Fla. for Valparaiso, Spain. This ship was caught in a storm, maybe an unnamed minor hurricane, and. Loess Is More: Wedding Tree

http://loessismore.blogspot.com/2012/02/wedding-tree.html

Friday, February 24, 2012. Last week as my bride and groom crossed the street I noticed something special about the tree in front of them. How perfect is that? I hope they saw it - perfect sign for a wedding, and in Mother Natures personal art, too. February 24, 2012 at 5:21 PM. The only tree coolness I ever found was the one that looks like it has a butt.
