Living By Lysa: ReJesus 2014: I'll Never Be the Same
http://www.livingbylysa.com/2014/09/rejesus-2014-ill-never-be-same.html
Friday, September 26, 2014. ReJesus 2014: I'll Never Be the Same. Last night was truly one of the greatest nights. We had an awesome party in the tent, celebrating Josiah Venture's twentieth anniversary! It was big, beautiful, and God-honoring from start to finish. I just know the Father was smiling and so delighted with His children as we gave Him praise and honor for what He's done here over the past twenty years. After each of us was given a chance to say a word of encouragement to the team, Dave hand...

Claire's Corner: Final Final
http://clairescornercz.blogspot.com/2015/05/final-final.html
Gluten, lactose, coconut-free. Friday, May 15, 2015. I finished my last final of the semester! Fun fact: Today was the last day that the scent of burgers came wafting into my room first thing in the morning. Every Thursday is Big Burger Thursday in the cafeteria. Since my room is near the vents to the down to the kitchen, I inevitably smell burgers every single Thursday morning. Not my favorite thing to wake up to, but it's been reality for the three semesters I've lived in this room. With my last exam, ...

Claire's Corner: For Mom
http://clairescornercz.blogspot.com/2015/05/for-mom.html
Gluten, lactose, coconut-free. Sunday, May 10, 2015. There's only one hour left (at least here in Chicago! On this special day - Mother's Day. Mom, I'm still celebrating you, even from across the ocean! I so wish I could be there to give you the biggest hug and bake you lemon bars, or oatmeal cookies, or cinnamon donuts - because I know they're all your favorites. But the best thing I can do is thank you. Hvar, Croatia, 2011. Thanks for stopping by! Your comments make my day! My name is Claire. If for so...

Living By Lysa: Ready to Write
http://www.livingbylysa.com/2013/10/ready-to-write.html
Thursday, October 17, 2013. Dave and I head into yet another new season of life today. It's a season we've both been thinking about, praying for, and dreaming of for quite a long time. Today we begin our season of writing. As I shared in this blog post. Back in July, we are on a ten month sabbatical/home assignment from our ministry with Josiah Venture. It is an immensely good gift from our friends, and the Lord, to be here in this place to start our writing projects. When we first began to dream about a...

Living By Lysa: June 2015
http://www.livingbylysa.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Although a wedding was the real purpose of being in Ireland, I couldn't pass up at least seeing Dublin on my way out! And it couldn't have been more fun with my Slovak friend, Darina! We traveled together back to Dublin after the wedding, in a rented car that I drove while she navigated.because you know, driving happens on the other side of the road there so I needed all the help she could give me! Seeing very interesting people along the way. :). We knew that the Book of Kells.

Living By Lysa: Our Romance
http://www.livingbylysa.com/p/my-family.html
Dave and I met at my boyfriend's house.". Yesthat's my favorite opening line when people ask how we got together! Dave was interning at my home church, but I was away at university, so we didn't run into each other often. I heard about him, a student from Multnomah School of the Bible, and he heard about me, a student at Eastern Washington University. But the first time we actually talked was across the table from each other during a lunch at my boyfriend's parent's house. I got a call from Dave P. i...

Living By Lysa: Favorites
http://www.livingbylysa.com/p/what-are-my-goals.html
Where we spend our vacations, camping in a remote spot, with our family and friends. We discovered Croatia back in 1996 when our kids were really small, and have been vacationing there pretty much ever since! Even though I haven't lived there for over 30 years, it's still one of my favorite places in the world and I am truly an Oregon Duck at heart! Thankfully my parents live there so I get to visit from time to time. Prague, Czech Republic. Some of my favorite authors are. Blogs, e-mails, letters, Faceb...

Living By Lysa: Chasing Sunsets
http://www.livingbylysa.com/2015/08/chasing-sunsets.html
Saturday, August 1, 2015. This has been the prettiest summer in Czech that I can remember in twenty two years of living here. Maybe I have a bad memory.or maybe it's just been "one of those summers"! In either case, it's been delightful. I haven't minded the hot days, or the rainstorms when they've come. But it's been the sunsets that have consistently been so lovely. Claire and I set off last night to see if we could find a spot to fully take it in. But then.it happened! Then we turned around to the east.

Living By Lysa: Pure in Heart
http://www.livingbylysa.com/2015/08/pure-in-heart.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. This may look ordinary. But it is kindness and love in flesh. Over the years I've written often about our neighbors, people who would be seen as "less than" by the world. Yet as redeemed ones, are extraordinary. Not because of anything they do, but because of the kindness and love that radiates out from them. Simple people who don't have much, they offer what they have. And one of those gifts is their prayers and delight in Claire. I believe they will see him one day, and that the...

Living By Lysa: April 2015
http://www.livingbylysa.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 30, 2015. Arrival at Prague Airport. For many years we made a lot of trips to the Prague airport to pick up people: summer interns, visiting guests, family members, new JV staff. But for many reasons, we don't go as often these days. There are others now to pick up summer interns, as well as new JV staff. Our family usually flies into Krakow because it's closer (and usually cheaper to fly there! But every now and then, there's a reason to go to the airport. Yes, it was Dave! When we tried...
