I hope you’re all well and life is mostly sweet… A little heads-up that I’ve just added 20 pouches to the shop. Most of which are Harris tweed from a series of jackets I collected in Melbourne. The incredible textures and colours found in HT never cease to take my breath away, especially when I get in close- and, in this case, I had no choice as my main lens is broken so I had to use my macro lens- apologies for the even shallower depth of field than normal ; ). Dyeing with avocado pips. We heated the dye bath (leaving the dyestuff in) and yarn and waited patiently as the fibres took up the dye… but the end results were unspectacular shades of beige- after seeing and hearing all about the pinks and rusts that other people were achieving, we were more than a bit disappointed. A Journey of Creative Knitting. Friday, April 17, 2015. I finished Wintersweet by designer Boo Knits. It is an elegant shawl in tussah silk with myuki glass beads. It is soft and quite heavy with the many beads. I did not knit the picot edge but decided on a stretchy bindoff which I am very happy with. This is a lovely knit but quite a challenging lace pattern. I love it. I am now back to working on the evenstar-shawl. Some knitting videa podcasts I've been enjoying are the fat squirrel with Amy Beth.
