http://nutsforfood.blogspot.com/2009/06/tante-marie-cooking-class.html
Thursday, June 18, 2009. Tante Marie Cooking Class. A little over a year ago, I took my first class at Tante Marie. Last weekend I took Tante Marie's Quick and Easy Mediterranean Cooking with Jodi and got so many great recipes using lots of whole grains, which had intimidated me in the past. We made a fantastic harissa, which I can't wait to make at home (I'll share once I get a chance to make it myself). My favorite dish was the Tomato and Pesto Farrotto. Farro. Inactive cooking time: 1.5 hours. 1 4-5 lb roasting chicken (air chilled for better flavor). Olive oil or butter, softened. 1 lemon, cut in half. 5-6 cloves of garlic peeled.

Seasonality in the San Francisco is rather more nuanced than it was in my Ohio childhood. I’ve had to manufacture my own seasons here, my own ways to watch the tides of the months wear grooves in my heart. Local food is my clock, and this show of large format watercolors is a way of recording the passing of many seasons in singular locations.

A blend of WORK and LIFE. March 1, 2013. 18Reasons’ cheese tasting. I thought I knew English cheese. Turned out I’d never tasted it before until the 18Reasons event “Stichelton and Hafod: Modern/Traditonal British Cheese”.
