U-M Recent Grad Blog. Wednesday, January 10, 2007. Break, Recruiting, etc. We meet again after too long of an absence. I apologize again, such is the life of a bschooler. Ok, I had 3 weeks off yes, but avoided all things school-related! Here are some updates:. Grades first term were pretty good.not as wonderful as I would have liked, but ahead of the curve I guess. But it doesn't matter! Recruiting: I have 4 interviews next week, 3 for consulting firms and 1 for an internal consulting role. Ah, I'm p...

Purvi Ravani: What to do with life?
http://aaumpurvi.blogspot.com/2006/11/what-to-do-with-life.html
U-M Recent Grad Blog. Tuesday, November 28, 2006. What to do with life? One of the great things about going to a business school as prestigious as Michigan (Harvard, Wharton, etc.) is that you really are being molded for success, leadership, and pretty much anything you want to do, anywhere you want to go. It's incredible how much recruiting, classes, and other activities show this. However, this presents the tough (albiet great) issue of there is TOO MANY OPTIONS! In my next post (this upcoming weekend)...

http://aaumpurvi.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
U-M Recent Grad Blog. Monday, December 11, 2006. Nearing the end of term. Which brings me to my next topic pertaining to the job hunt and demand for MBAs.recruiting season and etiquette. Here are some do's and don'ts that I have observed. Please note these are just my observations! But I'm a pretty intuitive person). Be on time to events! Have breathmints on hand! Turn your cell phone off.haven't you learned this by now. Think you're ever NOT being evaluated! Get drunk at corporate events. enough sai...

U-M Recent Grad Blog. Monday, August 28, 2006. A brief about me. Hello, fellow Wolverines! I wanted to use this first post to tell you a little bit about myself and what I hope you will get out of this blog. Apologies for the length; I am long-winded. I hail from Rochester, MI and am the oldest of 3. My parents are from India, but I was born in Flint. I like reading, hiking/camping, traveling, music.generally, adventures of the mind body and soul. After school, I took a job irrelevant to all of the above!

Purvi Ravani: Resumes.
http://aaumpurvi.blogspot.com/2006/10/resumes.html
U-M Recent Grad Blog. Sunday, October 08, 2006. DO keep it to one page. A friend of mine is a former HR specialist. She sometimes saw thousands of resumes in a week. They are NOT reading every word. Trust me. Now, that doesn't mean every word shouldn't be carefully thought out, but it does mean each word, especially the first 3-5 words of each bullet point, should be IMPACTFUL. Make the reader want. To read the rest of the bullet point. Do NOT put your undergradate GPA unless it is above a 3.0. Note: the...

U-M Recent Grad Blog. Sunday, November 12, 2006. Throughout the school year I am often asked this by friends and family: "How is school going? My answer should be "I have no idea," but I usually throw out a "Fine" or "It's ok.". To be totally honest, there is no way to evaluate your progress during the semester in law school. Each class comes down to one final exam, which determines your entire grade in the class. 1) How complete is your outline? 3) Study. Study. Study some more. Repeat. ...As you can se...
