A Medico's Diary

Wednesday, February 11, 2015. I know. I know. I do not want to talk about it. Right now, I do not want to use the words "It's been a while," at all. Let's pretend the last couple of years did not happen, all right? Looks like my only reader (my cat) has left. Sheesh. Cats ARE selfish. I am now Dr. Adorable Pancreas, almost. That last one just slipped out. (We are still DINKY, thank you very much. Ongoing grand nulligravid, and all that.). Which is perhaps the most authoritative book on Medicine. The fina...

A Medico's Diary: May 2010

http://adayinthelifeofamedico.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Monday, May 10, 2010. Food and sleep are my holy grail. (Sort of. Despite not being Dan Brown, I don't care about inaccuracies.) I can never have them when I need them. I think the worst time is two in the night, when even the roaring from my stomach cannot keep me awake. Thus goes the life of a hapless intern, who, as the saying goes, is overworked and underpaid. Not for long, maybe. A huge maybe. Sometimes, I wonder about what it was like to be normal. I can't remember. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

A Medico's Diary: The Legacy

http://adayinthelifeofamedico.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-legacy.html

Monday, August 19, 2013. My niece is five-and-a-half years old. Her brother is barely three. She speaks with a clarity well beyond the capabilities of most eight-year-olds. He! She hates school. He hates going to school, and then refuses to come back home in the evening. My niece wants to be a doctor when she grows up. She's not old enough to know any better, but she's been saying that from the time she could talk. She knows where her heart is, and can listen to it with my stethoscope. A long time ago.

A Medico's Diary: Tan Tan Tara!

http://adayinthelifeofamedico.blogspot.com/2011/09/tan-tan-tara.html

Saturday, September 3, 2011. Amidst great fanfare and rejoicings (or more accurately, sobs and screams of "FIX IT! His laptop. You know what means, don't you? Other than The Husband Is A Genius? It means pictures, people! Here are some from our trip to Ooty in the dead of winter. Best. Honeymoon. Ever. I looked like a homeless person, bundled up from head to foot, wearing ALL the clothes I had with me at the time, and STILL shivering like I had malaria. View from some dam. Basking in the sun at noon.

A Medico's Diary: I'm Lovin' It

http://adayinthelifeofamedico.blogspot.com/2011/07/im-lovin-it.html

Monday, July 18, 2011. I have been married eight months now. Except for all the prepping I've got to do (y'know, for yet another exam *sigh*), life's great. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out when you have found treasure. Yes, I am talking about The Husband. I mean, he buys me shoes without being asked, and that was more than enough to convince me that I'd struck Solid! Someday soon, I hope to be able to write something that is more than a placeholder post. Until then, ciao. We would love f...

A Medico's Diary: July 2010

http://adayinthelifeofamedico.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Where Have All The Readers Gone? I don't update anymore, so it isn't any good my whining about you lovely people not reading my blog anymore. *sigh*. This isn't a real blog post, it's just a quick message to all those loyal souls who still visit this here blog hoping for a new post (who could possibly be that sad? I have finished my stint in Surgery (HALLELUJAH! Not actually my foot. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Enter your email address:. A Slice of Lime.

Stress Management and Other Things: Little curve balls in life

http://stressmanagementandotherthings.blogspot.com/2011/03/little-curve-balls-in-life.html

Stress Management and Other Things. Saturday, March 05, 2011. Little curve balls in life. Mudd is a fun kid! As for Esme's daughter, Esme has decided that 16 is the youngest she can be to date. The young man is a sweetheart and I even met him. It's not that he is bad by any means. Does a 16 year old have a better understanding than an almost 15 year old on why it is better to hold off on intimacy? Does a 25 year old understand it any better? Posted by Tea N. Crumpet. Stress Management and Other Things: Daze of Summer

http://stressmanagementandotherthings.blogspot.com/2011/04/daze-of-summer.html

Stress Management and Other Things. Saturday, April 16, 2011. Her mentor is one of the most gentle people on the planet. He catches flies in his hands and sets them free outside his studio, and he flicks mosquitoes away rather than smashing them to death. She often asked him why he is like this and he always said, "One day I will tell you.". His voice was soft and he still wasn't looking at her, "You don't.". She tilted her head, and sharp pains circuited from her neck to her left shoulder and down her l...

Stress Management and Other Things: March 2010

http://stressmanagementandotherthings.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Stress Management and Other Things. Sunday, March 28, 2010. Motherhood in Bondage" A compilation of letters from the original desperate housewives and others. . . I am reading, "Motherhood in Bondage," a compilation of letters written to Margaret Sanger, the woman behind Planned Parenthood. She leaned conservative in her beliefs and I think she’d be appalled by how 13 year olds have access to birth control and how with the freedom we have enjoyed that as a society, we forgot about responsibility. This is...

Stress Management and Other Things: November 2010

http://stressmanagementandotherthings.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Stress Management and Other Things. Thursday, November 04, 2010. When my children were tiny, I used to play a game with myself when the day came to a close. I would carry them around the living room and sing to them or we would dance to fast mucic while counting cars. SURELY Daddy would be home within 100 cars! If he wasn't home within 100 cars, he'd SURELY be home within the next 100 cars! I still play the car game. Posted by Tea N. Crumpet. My muses are starting to dance again. Here in our new place, i...

Stress Management and Other Things: February 2011

http://stressmanagementandotherthings.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Stress Management and Other Things. Sunday, February 27, 2011. A very lame class on abuse prevention. How many in that room were gay? I am not worried about priests or clergy making moves in this parish because we have a lot of safeguards, but if they do and if they succeed, I will blame it on the education. They also didn't really talk about abuse in interpersonal relationships. The message of the evening was, "If it is infatuation, don't! If it is love, wait! I think it is noble to wait until marriage ...

Stress Management and Other Things: April 2010

http://stressmanagementandotherthings.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Stress Management and Other Things. Thursday, April 22, 2010. The accumulation of stuff. Yesterday, Own the Sidewalk. Talked of the accumulation of stuff and of her finacee, MLB, asking her to use up ten products before she buys more. Never has this weighed more heavily on me than as Darin and I wrap up our list for what we lost after the fire. Where was Maia as I was accumulating junk over the previous 13 years? Snacks. I'll save money and it's better for them in the long run. Sunday, April 18, 2010.

Stress Management and Other Things: May 2010

http://stressmanagementandotherthings.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Stress Management and Other Things. Saturday, May 29, 2010. More Ink for Tea! The only reason I am worried is because I started having problems after the fire and then I saw my GYN's nurse at a restaurant which I feel were sigh-ns. Whenever I die (and it's probably not soon) and my guardian angel and I are able to communicate directly, if this is important to bring up, it will say, "Da- , Tea! I hate this waiting period. Dr. Seuss wrote about The Waiting Place in his book. Oh, the Places You'll Go! I hav...

Stress Management and Other Things: June 2010

http://stressmanagementandotherthings.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Stress Management and Other Things. Friday, June 04, 2010. The irrational overcame the rational. There were things about the house-fire that I don't know if I blocked or if the situation was so far moved from reality and traumatic that it took a similar weather day to bring them back. Today I went to voter registration to change my address and they said that I had changed it in September. I was blank- I did? Between me, the fire and an exit. Will you do it again? He was cute, he wanted the assurance that...

The Journey: Explorations Along The Way

The Journey: Explorations Along The Way. Chronicling my observations, thoughts, and reflections on the intersection(s) between faith, theology, religion, culture, society, politics, ministry. Thursday, February 14, 2013. A Valentine's Day Letter for my Favorite One. Happy Valentine's Day. As I've expressed before, for salvation, for redemption, for new life, thank You. You are STILL my Favorite One and the bravest. All of me and still. That in itself changes me, however gradual that change may seem to be.

A Day In The Life Of A Lif

Wednesday, May 26, 2010. Wanna know why I've been away so long? Fine I'll tell you. Here's my dirty little secret. I thought I was in the clear when all of the hype was just about gone and society was moving on. It crept in one day, the thought that maybe I should try it and see what it was all about. Was I missing out on something major? How could I go through life not experiencing it. Not knowing what everyone was talking about when it was just so easy to be in the know. Links to this post. A Day in the Life of All of Us

A Day in the Life of All of Us. Ramblings of a Mother of Five. Friday, August 17, 2012. Back to school and becoming Yankees. School has officially started back up again.hallelujah.I think. Here are my three school boys on the first day. Charlie-3rd grade, Henry-kindergarten, William-2nd grade. We've even gotten cupcakes from our neighbors. I was not expecting fresh baked goods at all! Makin' of a Meacham

Makin' of a Meacham. Thursday, August 5, 2010. So, obediently we showed up at 4:00 am.and we were the only ones there! They didn't admit us to an L&D room until 5:00 am (what a waste of at least one good hour of much needed sleep). We tried to stay relaxed. We watched Bill Cosby's YouTubeable re-enactment of his wife's childbirth experience and his cheerleading role: "Push it Out! My Journey With Lyme. Saturday, May 16, 2015. Summer is just about here and we are finding some more work needing to be done to our property. Everything has turned so green and is growing beautifully! We have so many trees, which I love, but it makes the grass not want to grow. So, we've decided to cut down some trees and make our yard a little more what we want it to be. Can you see my hard working man in there? After the tree comes down, there's fun for the little ones! A day in the life of a Mom of Six. Saturday, May 16, 2015. Do you remember how, as a kid, all of the teens and young adults looked so "OLD! How they were super-cool, and yet you couldn't imagine actually BEING that old, and especially could not imagine life AFTER that? How as a teenager, seeing people in their 30s and 40s as being REALLY OLD made them super-uncool, and you really couldn't imagine being that uncool? What happened between then and now? I enjoy many different foods. I LOVE seeing new places.

Are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Christian? I hope I can shed some light on these questions.
