Adventures of a Modern Day Home Ec Teacher. Applesauce, Baby (Or Baby Applesauce). Is there anything more autumnal than picking apples? How’s that vocabulary for ya? My husband and I have made it a yearly tradition since we were dating, and now love involving our little girls in the event! 1 Pick Apples on a beautiful fall morning. 3 Add enough water to cover half the apples and a dash of cinnamon. 4 Simmer for about 30 minutes, then puree. 5 Freeze in ice cube trays and little babies will love it! I lov...

https://typingstuffaboutfashion.wordpress.com/2011/10/21/week-4-flawless-figure-cover-it-up-in-louis-vuittons-newest-collection-d
Just another WordPress.com site. Week 4: Flawless Figure? Cover It Up in Louis Vuitton’s Newest Collection! October 21, 2011. I’m so excited to finish this shirt! I like the blogging part of the class, but I WANT TO WORK ON MY SHIRT! I finally figured out the hem part, and I think I did it a little wrong:/ I pressed the bottom hem before the slit hems, and I think it was supposed to be the other way around? But you have to do that for the slit too… so maybe it was bottom-slit-slit-bottom? I’m assum...

Just another WordPress.com site. What the HECK is wrong with the NECK? 1 Pay EXTRA attention to the pattern guide. 2 Make sure you are very familar with the view you are making ( it’ll make it a lot eaiser to catch your mistake before you make errors that aren’t so easy to fix.). 3 I’m really just not “that good” …. 4 The mistakes you make in five minutes can take you and hour and a half to fix. Just another WordPress.com site. September 30, 2011. In my fashion II Class, there is only one other girl, her name is Kahlie, and myself! And Kahlie’s on top of everything and had all her fabric and everything, and I kept forgetting mine, so I just now got to start cutting my pieces out! I’m pretty sure I’ve done this on every single project I’ve done! My favorite site for fashion updates is Elle.com. They always have slideshows of models from recent fashion shows, and I like to see the wild thi...They ...

Japan: Adventures in Hokkaido
Japan: Adventures in Hokkaido. My adventures in Japan, specifically Hokkaido related. Wednesday, September 14, 2011. So far, it feels a little better, although at times there is a sharp pain that feels like one is stabbing my in the arm with a dagger. However, since it has decreased in size, I hope this will be a permanent solution than rather ingesting antibiotics for the rest of my time here before I can check up with my home doctor. I am doing okay, and will update you all on my prognosis later.

I haven't posted in a super long time, and I'm sure my loyal readers are pining away for a new entry. wait, who am I kidding? Anyways, in keeping with part of the original purpose of this blog for tracking my progress as a brewer, here's some updates and notes on what's been going on in my beer world. Links to this post. Adventures in Homebrewing | The successes and failures of a New Mexico homebrewer.
The successes and failures of a New Mexico homebrewer. APA recipe and tasting (and hops! June 4, 2010. Thursday, June 3. Early on, we hit upon the idea of buying our hops in bulk. Commercial breweries might use pounds of hops per barrel. But most homebrew recipes call for only a few ounces. Hoppier beers use more; this APA of mine had 11 oz, added at various stages of the brew. As the NPR article mentions, the Big Brewers get first dibs on the world hop supply. Smaller operations, including homebrewe...

Adventures in home economics. Learning the hard way…. January 12, 2009. January… Ummm… Monday? At 10:48 am by allisonwonder. I’ve lost track of the date- one of the dangers of “not working”. Today’s laundry day. Judging by the full hampers in all of the bedrooms, we’re looking at at least 4 loads; once I add in whatever’s scattered around the house, it’ll probably be more. Monday, February 23, 2015. Christmas Trip 2014 (part 4): Athens. On December 23rd we had a wonderful walking tour of Athens. The sad part is they weren't concerned with preservation until recently. Cute little church in the middle of town. Ruins under the city. Some renovation and some graffiti (very common). Old Greek Market next to the graffiti covered rail road tracks. Narrow streets to keep the pirates out. Some pottery near the Theatre. The other entrance to Athens. Links to this post. Christmas Tri...

Adventures in Home Improvement plus Random Musings. Tuesday, September 23, 2008. I love decorating a cake. But it turns out I love watching other people screw up decorating cakes even more. In case you haven't seen it this blog on poorly decorated cakes is hilarious. The best part is that they are all "professionally" made cakes. It doesn't matter how many times I see this cake - still funny. Http:/ cakewrecks.blogspot.com/search/label/Creative%20Grammar. Happy Birthday Aunt/Mom is also a winner. More im...

Adventures in Home Improvement
Adventures in Home Improvement. Our Front Door Lock Dilemma. Posted by Lesa Townsend. On June 2, 2011. We bought our house out of foreclosure and between our offer and closing, someone came into the house and took the medicine cabinet out of the bathroom (we believe it was the previous owners, but have no proof). There was no evidence of forced entry, so whomever it was, they either had a key or knew a real estate agent. And corded drill from the local home improvement store. The challenge didn’t a...
