Surfing | A Life Unlimited
https://alifeunlimited.wordpress.com/surfing-2
Living with severe autism. Skip to primary content. You would be justified in wondering why a blog that is primarily about an AAC method has a page dedicated to surfing. Partly because I’ll probably talk about it a lot and partly because I want to encourage people caring for kids with severe autism to give surfing a go. Archie was able to try surfing at the annual Breaking the Barrier. And so the obsession started. He’s been going pretty much weekly since this summer. This video was shot on...He is showi...
Behaviour is communication | A Life Unlimited
https://alifeunlimited.wordpress.com/2014/09/07/behaviour-is-communication
Living with severe autism. Skip to primary content. September 7, 2014. Behaviour is communication – especially when communication isn’t particularly easy. This is something we were taught from the earliest days – that if Archie’s behaviour became challenging it may be because he was trying to communicate something. I have repeated this for years, and sort of understood it, but at times, especially when we’re just surviving a challenging time, not really fully accepted. This entry was posted in Autism.
Surf videos | A Life Unlimited

Living with severe autism. Skip to primary content. I often refer to videos of Archie surfing, so it made sense to add some autism-surfing videos onto one page. The first video made, surfing with a little wave on a sunny August bank holiday:. Surfing in December, with a larger swell:. The first surf trip for the five boys from Archie’s respite centre:. Another trip for the surfer boys, in the sun this time:. Movie (professionally filmed by Head High Productions. One thought on “ Surf videos.

#100 Happy Days – Day 5 | A Life Unlimited
https://alifeunlimited.wordpress.com/2015/01/13/100-happy-days-day-5
Living with severe autism. Skip to primary content. 100 Happy Days – Day 5. January 13, 2015. I logged onto WordPress (it’s been so long they’ve changed the layout), to write a review of a completely brilliant, life changing, challenging behaviour course I recently took part in, and found that I had completely forgotten about the #100 Happy Days thing. Admittedly it’s been a somewhat challenging few months autism wise (or maybe puberty/teenage hormones wise) but there have been. And tagged 100 Happy Days.

We held it at the West Huntspill Miniature Railway. This entry was posted in autism, ASD, intensive interaction, sensory integration, home schooling.

Welcome to A Life Unlimited. To get back on the highway again, try doing some idle fantasizing. For now, put your mental car in fifth gear and let your mind sail along with some thoughts of what could be instead of what-is. Say to yourself, According to everybody else, I should be wanting to be, have and do X; but what if I could be, have, or do Y instead? What could I do if nothing were impossible? Change is a slow process that happens in stages. It usually starts with a feeling of unhappiness with ...

A Life Unordinary
America: Home of the free land of the brave. Today I spent the better part of the afternoon at the American Embassy trying to get my passport expanded yet again. It's the second time in a year that I have stepped foot on American ground in London. As always it's a truly unique experience. It's the only place I have ever come across in London where strangers talk to each other. When we were there last year to register the twinkies. Who has time for that? And braver as keeping to yourself. Others. I have a...
