Friends invited us to pick peaches at larriland farm. On saturday, but i had no idea they had so many. Great things to choose from! I regret not coming early and getting a start at grapes- by the time we went to pick grapes around lunchtime they were all gone:(. Last weekend was about as random as they come. we're in full-fledged humidity meltdown around these parts, and that also means periodical bouts of torrential ran and thunderstorms reeking havoc on weekend plans. We were favored to enjoy (in no particular order) some seriously amazing indian food at spice 6. Which i always want to call studio 6? Even though that show was called studio 5. And i really never watched it. or maybe i'm thinking of studio c. Nice, nor is it in a nice area, but those seats!

Yesterday afternoon we had a little time before going to some friends' house for dinner, so we made our way to theodore roosevelt island. It's this gem of an island in the potomac, right downtown. the island is super close to georgetown (which i think may be my favorite. Part of dc we've seen thus far! Mid-summer, and elle's last weeks dressing like a free spirit during normal business hours. Elle's new school has a very strict uniform policy that includes all-black shoes (ABSOLUTELY NO COLOR ON ANY PORTION OF THE SHOE! And and all-black belt, 100% of the time. Socks must be white or navy. Only white collared shirts must tucked into elle's little navy pants (belted, as mentioned), although she can spice it up with a navy overall dress when she's feeling particularly sassy. And no patterned tights!

One of these things is not like the other. My mom sent me one of the above photos and i was entirely confused until i looked at the car seat and realized that little sleeping person was. There was this post. Where i swear elle looked just like my dad's side of the family. And this other time. When jude looked just like me as a baby, but now this! Balloon weekend in ohio. Mike and i conversed more than we have in the last month, the weather was gorgeous, and we made it 4 hours (both there and on the way back) before we had to make our first stop. i mean, i recognize a miracle when one happens, and this? Visiting the lincoln memorial (& vietnam memorial). Mother's day weekend was probably my favorite weekend to-date. Perfect, minus my mother's day pity-party at church where i started freaking out that it was the worst day ever because jude refused to go to nursery and only screamed, and i was tired and overwhelmed. this time also coincides with nap time, and looking back it shouldn't have been a very big deal?
