On the Shelf: 20 Ways to Draw a Tree. August 7, 2015. There has been a lot of discussion of nature journaling in the Facebook group. Lately, and as someone who doesn’t consider herself an amazing natural artist, I have to admit that I sometimes feel little twinges of intimidation when I see the beautiful drawings some folks are doing in their journals. If you are likewise a bit timid when it comes to putting pencil to paper and sketching nature finds and the like, you might want to check out. Is an excel...

HappyerAtHome: June 2016
http://happyerathome.blogspot.com/2016_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 27, 2016. Diana recently completed a series of three workshops for stained glass art at monroe stree studio. Where she has also gained skills and experience working with 3d printing. Under the tutelage of yana. Over several months, diana and her friend learned the skills required to make a single panel - cutting and grinding the glass, wrapping with copper foil, working with solder and flux and a soldering iron. yana started them with a basic design and allowed them their choice of colors.

Adventures of a Subversive Reader. Squirm’s Book Reviews. The Great Library Tour. Australian Women Writers Challenge – 2014 Round Up. December 22, 2014. Australian Women Writers Challenge. It was a strange year for reading and reviewing. I spent a lot of my spare time sewing this year, so I had less reading and writing time. But I was involved in writing round ups for the Australian Women Writers Challenge, so I felt really involved, even when I wasn’t reading or writing. Onto some lists . . . Brilliant ...

Wednesday, January 11, 2017. Celebrating dailiness} wintry potpourri. Nestled in on a cold wintry day. Bunnies snooze. The heater hums. And wintry potpourri simmers on the stovetop. Few orange slices (best citrus for the job - I tried lemon, lime and grapefruit as well). Whole cloves (doesn't take many). Also makes a nice little gift for a friend, if you include a whole orange along with the other ingredients, in a clear little bag and tied up with a bit of baker's twine! Links to this post. (His assigned head start is 40 seconds.). As short or long a game as players want it to be. Share your ideas, too! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 2 big people and 2 little people. These are things we like to do. These are some of the things we put our hearts into. Thought others might enjoy them, too. Our little library bag.

Tuesday, June 2, 2015. Well it ain't much. But we call it home. Or, "tent," or "tipi," or. something. It's that time of year, when schedules relax and days open out ahead of us. So, we grabbed the bamboo poles we picked up at the garden center two summers ago (still "tied" together from our last go), spread a blanket under and wrapped a temporary cloth around our frame (a safety pin works fine! Perfect reading, snacking, drawing, chatting spot! And did I say "temporary"? Links to this post. In the Year o...

Home With Heart: Game Spotlight: Dragonwood
http://homewithheart.blogspot.com/2016/12/game-spotlight-dragonwood.html
Friday, December 30, 2016. Our friends shared this game with us recently, and we loved it so much that it showed up under our Christmas tree! Meets our family game criteria:. Game stays fun for the entire length of play. Good for 2 players as well as for more. Good for early math learners. Reminds me of Castle Panic (though this is not a cooperative game). Home With Heart: February 2015
http://homewithheart.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 26, 2015. Honestly, I heart a lot of things. All my friends know that I'm no minimalist. And our game corner certainly reflects this fact! Christmas brought some fun new additions, and as game-presents under the tree multiplied, Misa. Shared a cool challenge from BoardGameGeek that I'm excited to be trying. I think she referred to it as the 10 in 10 Challenge. The idea is that you play ten games ten times each in 2015. Battlesheep by Blue Orange. Links to this post. Links to this post.

Skip to main content. Read my review of Reading Horizons Here. Give Your Child the World (and how we do homeschool history). Once upon a time before homeschool co-op and drama productions, before part-time jobs and working out at the gym with Dad, before essays and research assignments, before pick-up soccer and youth rallies, before a big screen TV and the PS4, we lived in the land of. And in the land of love of learning. Studied slugs and played together. But, oh my goodness, do ever miss the pace of t...
