With an Open Mind: Thoughts on Educational Psychology

With an Open Mind: Thoughts on Educational Psychology. A Luther College Music Education student is given the opportunity to express his opinions on the internet, perhaps too hastily. Tuesday, May 12, 2009. Our group faced several challenges with this book. We were to take a book about health and medicine and relate it to education. How were we to do that? It represents all of the work that our group did with Mountains Beyond Mountains. You Can't Afford to Get Drunk. Later on, when I am working in the fie...

With an Open Mind: Thoughts on Educational Psychology. A Luther College Music Education student is given the opportunity to express his opinions on the internet, perhaps too hastily. Wednesday, April 8, 2009. As I write this, I am in the spring semester of my sophomore year in the Luther Education program, and my feet are on fire. Why yes, it was. Was it maddening? April 18, 2009 at 5:23 PM. Andrew, this is profoundly stated. You have a good point. Education is hard, and these few hoops we are tr...

With an Open Mind: Thoughts on Educational Psychology. A Luther College Music Education student is given the opportunity to express his opinions on the internet, perhaps too hastily. Friday, March 13, 2009. David Dunlap Scribbles a Dot. It was at this point of the lecture that I became skeptical of this man. What does a scribbled black dot have to do with art? Is it the lecture? Is it the spoken word or the gesture? Monday, March 9, 2009. Chalk - Why We Need to Be Human. Monday, March 2, 2009. Tonight, f...

Green Thoughts...: Let's do something!

http://kelly-greenthoughts.blogspot.com/2009/04/lets-do-something.html

Wednesday, April 1, 2009. How do family roles shape our lives? Are they really that important? For us here in the United States, this may seem foreign. Sometimes we cannot even seem to respect ourselves, let alone other people. People here may try to put the emphasis on recieving a sucessful education, but do the students believe it? April 5, 2009 at 4:45 PM. It's a great point, Kelly, but how can we bring this change about? America seems to love being a free nation. One of our most cherished rights ...

Green Thoughts...: More Hope

http://kelly-greenthoughts.blogspot.com/2009/03/more-hope.html

Saturday, March 21, 2009. This idea is what interests me so much in teaching.  How can we, as teachers, connect with students? There are subjects that each student can excel in, and it is our job to spark and guide that interest.  I think that the new history teacher would have learned and loved teaching more if he had started out the year in a good way.  Learning from mistakes and experiences is the most valuable way to learn. . Green Thoughts...: Blogging is not the only way.

http://kelly-greenthoughts.blogspot.com/2009/04/blogging-is-not-only-way.html

Sunday, April 26, 2009. Blogging is not the only way. Throughout this semester, blogging has been an interesting task to keep on top of. I have to admit, at first I was relatively skeptical of this idea. However, I have to say my opinions have changed. It's been fun to write down my thoughts about education and our class discussions. Our question for this week. How is technology useful? How can you visualize using blogging in your future classroom? By Doris Bergen and Doris Pronin Fromberg .

Green Thoughts...: Chalk and Wire

http://kelly-greenthoughts.blogspot.com/2009/04/chalk-and-wire.html

Friday, April 10, 2009. I have come to realize that not many people on campus think this is a good idea.  Honestly, I think most of the reasoning is because they don't want to do the work.  But if you think about it, we all need to put together a portfolio anyway.  Why not do it online? 160;Our presentation in class was very helpful in helping us actually use Chalk and Wire.  So why are people still against it? Which introduces the "Tech Team" who is available for any help needed with Chalk and Wire.

Andrew's Anecdotes: OM USA

Friday, December 9, 2011. What happens when you step out of bed? I heard a quote recently. It came from the Roma people. Live your life in such a manner, that when you awake in the morning and your feet hit the floor, Satan shudders and says."OH NO! May this be so in our lives. Is how we are living our lives so impacting the kingdom of darkness that we cause Satan to take notice of us? As we finish 2011 let's make sure Satan shudders a lot over Christmas. Andrew - On Tour

Andrew - On Tour. I've spent 30 years living and working in Australia, it's time to get out and see the world. Thursday, 31 December 2009. I have a lot of thoughts about 2009, but I'm going to refrain from boring everyone. Instead, I'm going to wish all my friends and family a happy new year. I'm planning on making 2010 the best year ever, so keep an eye out - this blog will be back to its regular schedule soon. Until then, I must go and celebrate the new year in the only way I know how. Singapore Expat

Friday, July 18, 2008. For the past 2 weeks while walking through the city streets, my path is confronted by swarms of foreign speaking youth, proudly waving their country’s flags, singing, dancing and cheering through the streets. 8217;t it a little too early just yet for the world cup? Even hold international soccer events let alone have frenzied young fans going berserk through the streets? 8217;t until I tuned on the news that it clicked, these kids were here for World Youth Day 2008. Since late last year, God revealed to me that my season in Viet Nam would be coming to an end. And that the next chapter is to return to Singapore. Hence, I had made plans to return to Singapore next year. Thus, next month I would be returning to Singapore to start my new job. I’m also thankful to God for my wife. Tuesday, June 24, 2014. It's been a while. Straight from Jack Johnson last fall I was called to fill in for 3 Pearl Jam shows as PA crew chief. I flew straight from the PJ shows to Biloxi, MS where I met up with MC working a Stone Temple Pilots show at the Hard Rock. Instead of getting a flight home, MC was able to negotiate getting a rental car. We took a nice road trip back to KY. On the way we stopped at my brothers new house in Alabama. Jordan, my neighbor. It's not even Thanksgiving yet here. At som...
