Green Thoughts...: March 2009

http://kelly-greenthoughts.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Saturday, March 21, 2009. This idea is what interests me so much in teaching.  How can we, as teachers, connect with students? There are subjects that each student can excel in, and it is our job to spark and guide that interest.  I think that the new history teacher would have learned and loved teaching more if he had started out the year in a good way.  Learning from mistakes and experiences is the most valuable way to learn. . Green Thoughts...: February 2009

http://kelly-greenthoughts.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Tuesday, February 24, 2009. The things I wish I knew before. . . One major challenge all three teachers shared was being able to find a balance between home and work, and within the working environment itself. This is something I am dealing with now. I have more classes this semester than ever before in addition to work and choirs. I completely understand the need to find a good balance of activities. I will definitely take that advice and try to keep myself in a good place. Vidual student had one! Major...

Green Thoughts...: Chalk and Wire

http://kelly-greenthoughts.blogspot.com/2009/04/chalk-and-wire.html

Friday, April 10, 2009. I have come to realize that not many people on campus think this is a good idea.  Honestly, I think most of the reasoning is because they don't want to do the work.  But if you think about it, we all need to put together a portfolio anyway.  Why not do it online? 160;Our presentation in class was very helpful in helping us actually use Chalk and Wire.  So why are people still against it? Which introduces the "Tech Team" who is available for any help needed with Chalk and Wire.

Green Thoughts...: Let's do something!

http://kelly-greenthoughts.blogspot.com/2009/04/lets-do-something.html

Wednesday, April 1, 2009. How do family roles shape our lives? Are they really that important? For us here in the United States, this may seem foreign. Sometimes we cannot even seem to respect ourselves, let alone other people. People here may try to put the emphasis on recieving a sucessful education, but do the students believe it? April 5, 2009 at 4:45 PM. It's a great point, Kelly, but how can we bring this change about? America seems to love being a free nation. One of our most cherished rights ...

With an Open Mind: Thoughts on Educational Psychology: Mountains Beyond Mountains

http://andrew-on-ed-psych.blogspot.com/2009/05/mountains-beyond-mountains.html

With an Open Mind: Thoughts on Educational Psychology. A Luther College Music Education student is given the opportunity to express his opinions on the internet, perhaps too hastily. Tuesday, May 12, 2009. Our group faced several challenges with this book. We were to take a book about health and medicine and relate it to education. How were we to do that? It represents all of the work that our group did with Mountains Beyond Mountains. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). You Cant Afford to Get Drunk.

With an Open Mind: Thoughts on Educational Psychology. A Luther College Music Education student is given the opportunity to express his opinions on the internet, perhaps too hastily. Thursday, February 26, 2009. New Information from Young Educators. Most of our discussion centered around the qualms of the modern educator. Technology is a wonderful tool to employ in the classroom, but how much is too much? Secondly, did this class achieve documented improvement in these students' understanding of history?

With an Open Mind: Thoughts on Educational Psychology. A Luther College Music Education student is given the opportunity to express his opinions on the internet, perhaps too hastily. Tuesday, May 12, 2009. I was almost dreading to go to class that night. I hated the idea of the new system, and I had to be a supporter by 6PM. I was a hypothetical parent of an over-achieving, highly academic, and very bright son, and I had to start kissing the feet of this plan and quick. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Friday, March 13, 2009. David Dunlap Scribbles a Dot. It was at this point of the lecture that I became skeptical of this man. What does a scribbled black dot have to do with art? Is it the lecture? Is it the spoken word or the gesture? March 15, 2009 at 2:55 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Chalk - Why We Need to Be ...

With an Open Mind: Thoughts on Educational Psychology. A Luther College Music Education student is given the opportunity to express his opinions on the internet, perhaps too hastily. Thursday, April 2, 2009. Freedom is an Empty Room. The answer was simple. As, Dr. van Dieu explained, Vietnam is not free, and neither is anyplace else. So, what does this mean for education and society? Because it is right to. On the very same train of thought, who teaches the child what is right and what is wrong? I just k...
