What is the Abyss? It is the bottomless chasm which appears the more one learns. At first the gorge looks narrow and shallow. But the closer you get, the deeper and wider the gorge becomes. I thought I'd go to college and attain epistemological certainty. Instead, I have learned that I have so much more to learn--and all my answers have only revealed more questions. The abyss is truly infinite--and the closer I come to the edge the less confident I am that I'll ever cross it. . .--Jason
