A Quilter by Night. I hope you will follow me on over to my new blog, "wabi sabi quilts" - link below! New blog - WABI-SABI QUILTS. Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Little " Three Friends of Winter" sashiko sampler. One thing I love about sashiko is the inherent symbolism within its designs. I made this little Sho Chiku Bai. Pine, bamboo, and plum - the "three friends of winter") sampler for a friend who has been facing some daunting health challenges with grit and with grace. Printed with cute plovers:.

To check it out!

Quilts are for Giving: Flamingo Floyd

http://quiltsareforgiving.blogspot.com/2015/06/flamingo-floyd.html

Quilts are for Giving. This is a place to share about your charity quilts. Monday, June 1, 2015. This quilt was inspired by Doris Brunnette’s ( madebyabrunnette.com. Quilt which won 1st place at the Modern Quilt Guild’s QuiltCon 2015. As someone who loves symmetry – and started quilting long before quilts with a modern aesthetic began gaining momentum in the early 2000’s – doing an asymmetrical quilt is quite a step outside of the proverbial box for me! CRAZY SASHIKO | Blue & White

https://blueandwhitetokyo.com/2014/10/21/crazy-sashiko-2

THE LANGUAGE OF SUMMER 夏の季語. October 21, 2014. To be crazy is far easier for some. Those whose hands are too experienced and too nimble are hard put to feel free and go wild and let themselves go. For many entrants to our recent Crazy Sashiko Contest that was the case. In all modesty, some admitted that their sewing skills were too advanced to try to do something crazy . It had to be perfect or they didn’t want to try. Some reckless souls deigned to try their hand. Not only cat lovers were taken with the...

The other day we had fun trading onomatopoeia with a friend who is learning English. Some of the most common word-sounds in Japanese are:. Doki doki (dough-key, dough-key) = nervous (like the sound of a beating heart). Pecha-kucha (peh cha coo cha) = the sound of girls giggling and chatting. Za za (zah zah) = the sound of heavy rain. Quilts are for Giving. This is a place to share about your charity quilts. Friday, May 16, 2014. When I attended our Guild's retreat last February, I knew we were going to do a mystery. Now these always make me nervous. Am I going to like it? What will I do with it? Debbie Caffrey designed the mystery pattern. It was a lot of fun, despite my anxiety. Links to this post. A Quilter's Alley

Sunday, January 25, 2015. Eva Marie came to visit last weekend. Together we spent Friday evening, nearly all day Saturday and Sunday working on Bonnie Hunter's Grand Illusion Mystery Quilt. I had hubby take a few pictures of our set-up in my overly crowded sewing room. Messy, messy room. But functional. One day maybe I'll get things cleaned up. I was able to complete all the steps to the GI Mystery. And I am planning to change my block up a bit. Eva Marie has a whole row put together. I used my 3/4" hexa...
