A Reader's Reviews: "Masquerade" by Melissa De La Cruz

http://www.areadersreviews.blogspot.com/2011/07/masquerade-by-melissa-de-la-cruz.html

Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Masquerade" by Melissa De La Cruz. Mimi Force is throwing a party, THE party of the year. It’s the hottest ticket in town and all of the details are top secret. The only way in is to receive the coveted text message moments before the party begins. That, and you have to be a vampire. I’m losing interest in this series. When I finished I had to sit and really think “Now, what was it about? I'm going to keep going but I just feel like nothing really happens or progresses in this boo...

Tuesday, September 28, 2010. Duty and Desire by Pamela Aiden. Pamela Aiden continues her assessment into the untold story of Darcy …. Yeah, sorry. I can’t even think about this book with a straight face, let alone write seriously about it. We’ve all wondered what Darcy was up to during the middle of Pride and Prejudice when he and Elizabeth are apart. Apparently I’m not the only one. You think I’m joking. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. But it is still an awesome ride and I love it all. Gets four stars bu...

A Reader's Reviews: April 2011

http://www.areadersreviews.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Friday, April 22, 2011. The Vampire Diaries" by L. J. Smith. Another TV show that I (am a little embarrassed to admit) enjoy. Elena Gilbert, her aunt, and younger sister have all just returned from a summer in Paris after the tragic death of her parents. On the first day of school she sees the new student, handsome and mysterious Stefan Salvatore, and decides that she will have him. This book is really just a set up for the series so I don’t know how closely or completely differently the show&#8217...

The Madsen Family: Family Fun Days!

http://bradandali.blogspot.com/2011/07/family-fun-days.html

Thursday, July 21, 2011. I heard about a thing called "Family Fun Days" at the fair grounds recently and we decided to check it out. Trent and Kylie came along too. We started out with some crafts. The girls made wooden flags, wooden spoon princesses, and clothespin dolls. The crafts came out really cute and the best part was that everything was free! After that we played some games and the kids earned a lot of toys and treats. Everyone pitched in to help Vi catch a duck. Brad was up next. 8220;Miss Pere...

The Madsen Family: Some Summer Fun

http://bradandali.blogspot.com/2011/08/some-summer-fun.html

Friday, August 5, 2011. We didn't get to watch any actual parades this year but the girls and I did go to the Pioneer Days Parade Float Preview. They brought all of the floats into the Southtown Expo Center and let every one get a close look at the floats. Also, I don't know why, but all of my pictures are so blury when they're posted. If you click on them the look fine, they just look aweful on the blog. Sorry, I hate it too. I have to say BYU, not your best effort. Grandma and Morgan on the tube.

The Madsen Family: An Anniversary Present

http://bradandali.blogspot.com/2011/08/anniversary-present.html

Thursday, August 25, 2011. Yesterday was Brad and my 9th anniversary. Morgan was very into the idea that it was our anniversary and made us a present. She got out her art supplies and went to work. She kept yelling over to me "Mom, don't look! How do you spell . ", it was really cute. Here is the finished project. Mom I love you because we read. Dad helps. She's a cute kid and we love her! That is some wishful thinking! I love that she loves you because she reads. That works I guess!

The Madsen Family: Last Week of Freedom

http://bradandali.blogspot.com/2011/08/last-week-of-freedom.html

Monday, August 22, 2011. Last Week of Freedom. Today was M's very first day of school and she was more than ready and very excited to start kindergarten. She's in the same class as one of her best friends and everyone tells us her teacher is the best. The first thing she did when she woke up was take her backpack into the living room and make sure it was still packed and ready to go. M planned ahead and brought her paleontologist goggles (thanks Aunt Cori! And dug around a little looking for fossils.

A Reader's Rapture

A blog by a self declared book geek and snob, dedicated to everything bookish. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. The End of Mr. Y. A cursed book. A missing professor. Some nefarious men in gray suits. And a dreamworld called the Troposphere? This book had such great potential at so many points and it just did not pull through in any way for me, however, I think this is ultimately an issue of preference and not so much of quality. Thomas is a great writer, I definitely won't begrudge her on that. She has ...I got...

Flippin' Fabulous- A Reader's Record

Not So Fab (2). Not For Me (1). Whatcha Think About Wed. Wednesday, February 20, 2013. When Book Quotes Meet Reality. I've had a bad weekend to say the least. I've experienced my first funeral as an adult and as a parent. It was of a seven week old baby (not mine.) It is heart breaking - my heart still hurts for so many reasons including the fact that the father of the baby referenced my son during the funeral. Anyway, I just finished Notes From Ghost Town by Kate Ellison. Wednesday, January 30, 2013.

A Reader's Reverie

Friday, February 22, 2013. The Light Between Oceans. Mixed emotions make me hesitate to write about The Light Between Oceans. I liked it. I really did. But I also disliked it. Someone who reviewed this book commented it was a “high concept” book. In that area, I disagree. As I read the book I felt I had read it before which insists the storyline is not unique. Overall, The Light Between Oceans. Read Light Between Oceans. Labels: 3 1/2 Star Rating. Monday, January 7, 2013. Rating: 3 3/4 Stars. In a way th...

Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Policy for the People. The values of liberty, equality, and social justice (fraternite) are realized in two ways of understanding equality-as both liberty of the individual to pursue opportunity, and provision of a level playing field. Also embedded in this intertwined credo is the principle of the social body of which each individual is a part and outside of which no individual can survive.". Janet Giele, Family Policy and the American Safety Net. I've seen it be driven by the m...
