Dressing for the weather - melinda. Dressing for the weather. I have this problem where, every year around this time, I start dressing much too warmly for Seattle's mild weather. It's like I forget I'm not in the Midwest anymore, and I end up feeling disgusting all day. Yesterday, for example, I wore a sweater, and packed a scarf with me. I spent half the day in a tank top, with the sweater thrown over my chair. "It's fall! About me ever getting to wear my extra-cool peacoat here. Forget it! Although....

Quotidian - Crazy Little White-Haired Freak. Soda fountains of doom. I now have internet at home! I can spam livejournal with hundreds of trivial "what I did today" posts! Drew this absurdly cute picture a while ago:. Which inspired me to make this:. When I was showing. How to fool around with molten glass. I'm actually pretty happy with it; it strikes me as a pretty good interpretation, even including the stretched-neck-peering-at-things bit. But with a dozen pieces of glass that might. The results are ...

Hawaii, again - Crazy Little White-Haired Freak. Hawaii is what you'd get if some far-future historian read a bunch of livejournal posts written by Americans and decided to try and reconstruct this "America" place. He gets the general shapes of things right, but the details are very wrong. Right melody, wrong words. He fares a lot better with that strange thing called "diners". He knows they server combination plates! He can do that: spam and teriyaki fried chicken is a combination plate, right? If I cou...
