The Community Church Council has embarked on an ambitious programme to completely rebuild and extend the 1812 Gray and Davison organ which has been inside St Mary's Church since the 1850s.

The Church of St Beornwald. A new roof on the Church of St Beornwald. The Church of St Beornwald (part of the setting for Hugh de Singleton’s chronicles. Is today basically unchanged from its medieval appearance. Except for the name: in the 16th century it was renamed and since then has been called the Church of St Mary the Virgin. The roof of this wonderful old church was in serious need of repair. Thanks to the contributions in response to the appeal, the roof repair was completed a few years ago.

Local Produce and Crafts. NEXT FAIR: Thursday 25th October 2018. Bampton Fair existed even before King Henry III granted it a Royal Charter in 1258 and it is always held on the last Thursday of October. It is one of the oldest surviving Charter Fairs in the country. For centuries, the fair mainly sold sheep and cattle and was the largest sheep fair in the South West of England. During the 1880's to the 1980's it evolved to become the famous Bampton Pony Fair trading in Exmoor ponies. We are on Facebook!
