Ben Brierley Woodfired Ceramics

Welcome to my blog. Here I will create a real time commentary of my latest News. The way I make, fire and show my work. As well as any other stuff which makes it all tick. Thursday, 11 June 2015. A little bit of TLC. I delivered a firings worth of wood down to the Wysing Arts Centre anagama kiln last year in preparation for a firing. However, while there, noticed a brick had fallen out of the arch above and just to the left of the firebox. On Tuesday Mr Parry. Above: the tree keep, deep in the woods.

Some images were taken quickly as the work had to go off to a show at the Beetroot tree gallery in Derbyshire. Here is a taster. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

My ceramic work is wheel thrown and altered using stoneware and porcelain clays, coral.casino. Recent work is also slab built. Forms seek to utilise and respond to the malleability of the material and work is altered and assembled while still wet. Current work includes bottles, jugs, vases, platters and bowls and sculptural boxes. The work is wood fired to 1400 degrees centigrade in an anagama kiln, for three to five days. eldorado.casino.

Welcome to my blog. I will attempt to make it much more than just a pitiful list of the relentlessly mundane minutiae of my daily existence but if you feel that I have failed try to imagine all the stuff that I haven't posted. Tuesday, 17 February 2015. Who says men can't multitask? After the incessant rain of yesterday it was a pleasure to continue packing the kiln in clear skied sunshine. Chilly, yes, but no time to worry about fridge cold wadding on my fingers. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
