Monday, November 26, 2007. Landslide on Money Drop: Rock Creek, WA. Money Drop was an 80 foot falls before a huge ever-changing landslide filled in the creek and the base of the waterfall. Right now it's around 40 feet and it's definitely still changing. Jim Busse, Luke Spencer, Chuck Taylor, Johnnie Ott and I witnessed, and a few of us narrowly escaped, part of the landslide falling into the river. Notice the huge landslide that's taken out a bunch of trees. Jim Busse stomping it! That's a lot of mud!

Wednesday, June 25, 2008. Southwestern Colorado Classics Part 1. Box canyons, granite gorges, and huge boulders characterize the rivers of southwest Colorado, making for some great whitewater. Click for hi-res images. Scouting a steep box canyon on the way to Durango. It contained tight steepness with a couple impressive falls and at least one hideous rapid. Is it runnable? Watching a rainbow hang over a roadside hundred foot slide that drops off the face. To see a vid of Gore being ran even higher.

Saturday, October 6, 2007. Waterfall Huck: Lower Falls, Lewis River. The mission: run unrun creek. The crew: me, Johnny O., Luke S., Chuck T., and Uldis. The result: find creek to be too low, run big waterfall. Clean unrun 100 footer - needs more water though. Any takers? Me probing it for the boys. Uldis was a natural at the oregon tuck. We decided to explore the upper section a bit and see what was up there. We ended up running into a 45 footer that was runnable, but with fairly high consequence due to a fairly small landing zone caused by rock. 158 miles 29,000 vertical feet 39 days. The ultimate California kayaking expedition. And I crossed the proverbial finish line at Garnet Dyke Campground Friday evening capping off our nearly 6 week California Epic with the Middle Kings. Along with other West Coast Jackson Kayak expedition kayakers Devin Knight. Ryan Knight, Chris Korbulic. All told the trip involved (per person):. 1 28 days of kayaking, 8 days shuttling vehicles, and 3 days of rest and feeding. To see Darin's impressive body of work.
