http://dirtanddogs.blogspot.com/2010/04/bikeabout-guide-to-road-snakes.html
Sunday, April 18, 2010. Bikeabout Guide to Road Snakes. We've seen our first snake of the season. And as the weather warms, there will be more of our fine scaly, legless friends out there in the wild and semi-wild places we like to visit. The snakes of which I am most familiar are the snakes I have encountered while on Bikeabout. The Bikeabout Guide to Road Snakes. Coachwhip Snake - Western Black Racer. Rope Snake (Note bulges from recent meals). Lesser Steel-Belted Rubber Snake (Molting). Heh, you had m...

Monday, February 27, 2012. Hiking a Canyon with a Dog. It's been a year today since we lost our Gustifson. http:/ www.commandonlandon.blogspot.com/2011/02/gustifson-h-blakfurs-last-ride.html. Time has healed a lot, but not a day goes by that I don't think of my waggly little boy dog. Gus and I used to hike canyons a lot, so today Dinka and I went on a "Gus Hike" to find some adventure. On the last descent, I dropped Dinka down onto a rock to wait for me to climb down to her. As I was chimneying down ...

The Arizona Trail and why I don't use a GPS.Part 1. NOT using a GPS allowed this moment to happen. It seemed that every day ended like this. We would all watch the sun set from our own vantage points and then meet for camaraderie in the camper while we cooked good food. It doesn't get any better! The Big Hill" finally began. It was an interestin...

ON YER BIKE!: May 2012
http://commandonlandon.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 8, 2012. A Fake Snake on the Trail. From May, 2012. If you can't tell by the lack of blog posts, I've been off the bike for a while. For the first time in my life I stopped riding.on purpose! I just didn't want to do it anymore. For me this has been a really big deal, possibly even a crisis. Luckily it seems to be over. From May, 2012. I came to the realization, with the help of my wife, that I don't have to ride a certain amount, or a certain distance and that I am not training for ANYTHING!

Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Andventures in the Hillbilly Hideaway.59 Miles Till Pie. (part 2). Above photo by Eric Boxrud). Day two brought the kind of weather you dream about. Perfect mid 60's and sun. I was finally appropriately dressed. The trail just got better. The map showed a fair amount of double track, but what double track was out there turned out to be down right fun! We smelled this poor girl before we saw her. I thought it was a leather coat on the ground when I first saw it. Dinka was not to...

Wednesday, August 8, 2012. Perspective on August 8. From July 1, 2012. I'd been sensing that my time was due. I'm not really the kind of guy to hold back and when you ride bikes as fast as you can you will eventually crash. A totally un-spectacular fall left me with a shattered ankle. From July 1, 2012. From July 1, 2012. So here I am on August 8th, my back injury anniversary. And you know what I got to do? I got to stand up, get out of my wheelchair and walk! From July 1, 2012. From July 1, 2012. So sor...

ON YER BIKE!: Tales From The Bike Shop---"You Have No Idea How Hard I Ride"
http://commandonlandon.blogspot.com/2013/04/tales-from-bike-shop-you-have-no-idea.html
Saturday, April 13, 2013. Tales From The Bike Shop- -"You Have No Idea How Hard I Ride". This episode of "Tales From The Bike Shop", takes us back to the Fall of 2010. It was a slower day, not a lot going on. Sometime in the afternoon the door opened and a guy stepped through the door loudly proclaiming "I'm Here"! At this point my eyes were beginning to glaze over, and I started trying to move toward the front of the shop, hoping for a phone call to save me from listening to how "bad ass" this guy was.
