By brendan on 01/20/2013. Dear Post-Dispatch –. Currently my options are to either subscribe to home delivery for $155/year, or the E-Edition only for $300/year. Home delivery would be wasteful, since I wouldn’t ever read it. And the E-Edition without home delivery costs twice as much? I propose that you offer a third subscription tier. $8/Month for “Enhanced” stltoday.com access, with an optional $2/Month add-on for Sunday E-Edition. Enhanced stltoday.com access would include:. Storify - Brendan Gates

http://blog.brendangates.com/storify

By brendan on 01/10/2013. Have you heard of Storify? It’s like a blog, in that it’s long form social media. But where it differs is that Storify is highly integrated with other social networks and can easily pull in outside elements for commentary. I used it to narrate a series of beer themed twitter exchanges between a local brewery and well, the people it angered. Check out my attempt here: http:/ storify.com/ bgates/aggressive-ales. Email (needed but it will not be published). Website (if you have one).

Aplastic Anemia - Brendan Gates

http://blog.brendangates.com/about/aplastic-anemia

By brendan on 05/17/2010. I was diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia in July 2005, when I was 25 years old. It is a rare condition where your bone marrow does not properly produce blood cells. In my case the bone marrow was prevented from forming cells by an over-eager immune system; why that occurred is still unknown. However, thanks to the care of my doctors, and support from my family and friends, I am doing much better now. When I was first told that I had Aplastic Anemia, I immediately Googled.

Brendan Gates -

http://blog.brendangates.com/page/2

By brendan on 01/4/2013. This past Saturday I purchased a laptop from Woot. I took a shipping upgrade to ensure I would receive my new toy on Wednesday afternoon. The sale mentioned the model number but not which variant, so I decided to contact them and ask for it. So as to not harm the (sort of) innocent, I’ve switched out the Woot employee names for names of Nickelback band members. Sent: Sun Dec 30 15:41 CST 2012. Thanks for your help! Goodbye Livestrong - Brendan Gates

http://blog.brendangates.com/goodbye-livestrong

By brendan on 01/19/2013. Later that night he called me with blood work results to insist that I check into a hospital immediately, as my blood counts were universally low. I did that, and woke up the next morning to a new doctor telling me to prepare for a fight with leukemia. That scared me more than anything has ever scared me. It turns out that I didn’t have leukemia. Further testing revealed that I had (and still have) aplastic anemia. Now it’s 2013, and I’ve had the Livestrong bracelet ...I don&#82...

Searching the Shores: March 2005

http://bbutterscotchh.blogspot.com/2005_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 29, 2005. I was confused as I was fairly certain my definition of swing was not the same as hers. You know- the dance style.". Ah" Of course, the dance style. She almost showed me his picture but thought that would be inappropriate. Instead she gave me his full name and where I may be able to find him on the internet. Yes, because that is much less intrusive. I couldn't help but walk away with a grin on my face. I don't recall it being there earlier. What is it? Hmmm Sniff. Oh. OH! Want to...

Searching the Shores: April 2005

http://bbutterscotchh.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 27, 2005. I appreciate all the kind words. It is amazing how 'strangers' can make things so much better. I have put all the negative items into a box in my brain and am only taking them out when I have to. The rest of the time I am reveling in the sun. I have my last Wednesday night class tonight, which is actually a free wine/ Chinese food party at the professor's house. Tomorrow is my last Thursday night class which is an exam. I liked the first prof's idea better. The scream penetrate...

Searching the Shores: And So It Begins...

http://bbutterscotchh.blogspot.com/2006/01/and-so-it-begins.html

Sunday, January 08, 2006. And So It Begins. I wasn't planning on posting again till I finished watching all of the episodes of Battlestar Galactica, but at this rate, I realized you may all give me up for dead if I wait that long. The New Year is upon us, and I am pretty sure I am under one of the heavier parts of its body. The left butt cheek perhaps. Yes, perhaps this is all coming from my missing Kissboy- since things really have ended this time- but whatever the reason, I want it to go away. Enou...

Searching the Shores: Speaking Of Orgasms

http://bbutterscotchh.blogspot.com/2005/12/speaking-of-orgasms.html

Wednesday, December 07, 2005. Could someone please explain to me what an orgasm feels like? I'm working on learning how my body works and am not all that pleased at the recent results. I mean, I can get to the point where I know I am gonna- without a doubt- but then when I should be yelling "YES, OH GOD YES," I find myself saying "Was that it? Obviously I am doing something wrong. That can't be it. Can it? A short warm fuzzy feeling is not the explosion I am looking for. Posted by Butterscotch at 4:03 PM.

Well, the party was nice but the most dramatic part of the night came on the drive home. Fog blinded me and if I had of been driving one kilometer faster you would all be mourning the loss of Butterscotch. Well, I am sure a few of you would be. Okay, at least one? I think Merritt MountainFest will have me doing that for a full weekend in July. Woo hoo!

Searching the Shores: Welcome 2006?

http://bbutterscotchh.blogspot.com/2006/01/welcome-2006.html

Sunday, January 01, 2006. You guys can keep me on track. My New Year's Resolutions:. 10: To start my New Year on January 3rd. 9: To stop complaining out loud. Silent thoughts and blogging do not count. 8: To pay off one half of my line of credit. This of course depends on my actually having work for the entire year. 7: To have work for the entire year. 5: To meet at least five new people that I enjoy spending time with. 4: To accept that I may be single for yet another year; accept and be okay with it.

Searching the Shores: July 2005

http://bbutterscotchh.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 22, 2005. Well, Butterscotch is a giddy mess, one who will not be able to spend much time posting as she needs to continue re-packing as she has to once again cut down on the amount of crap she wants to take. For someone who doesn't wear make-up and who has never dyed or permed her hair, I am such a girl. I was disheartened to have gained two pounds at my last weigh in, but on the bright side, my body fat has dropped five points, and my body itself has shrunk. I really wanted to look goo...

Brendan C Wood's Blog. Code / game / audio developer designer. How well does the age someone starts to learn programming correlate with their long-term technical ability and professional success? I’d say anyone would have a much easier time starting today, regardless of their age, because you can find anything you need to about programming on the internet. You know what you need to do to look up something in your favorite language? To me, your total time invested is worth far more than when you started.
