Building a ReacTable: 14. First generated sounds

http://building-a-reactable.blogspot.com/2008/12/14-first-generated-sounds.html

What is a ReacTable? Tuesday, December 2, 2008. 14 First generated sounds. I've added support for generators to have multiple controllers. I recorded some simple sounds to share with you. First, a sinewave generator with 4 sinewave controllers of various frequencies. Http:/ jaredbeck.com/pub/permanent/2008-12-02/5sines.mp3. Second, a mix of a bunch of different waveforms. There's a sawtooth controller in there, one or two square wave controllers, and I think the generator was square wave also.

Building a ReacTable: 4. So, you want to build a ReacTable?

http://building-a-reactable.blogspot.com/2008/11/4-so-you-want-to-build-reactable.html

What is a ReacTable? Tuesday, November 11, 2008. 4 So, you want to build a ReacTable? The great majority of the work has already been done for you, and yet the work that remains is daunting. As of November 2008, these things are free:. The protocol for communicating events, TUIO. Sample TUIO-client code in many languages. All of the research published by the ReacTable team. These things you must do yourself:. Research - You had better get a binder, because you need to research modular synthesis. I've fou...

Building a ReacTable: 9. Camera and Lighting

http://building-a-reactable.blogspot.com/2008/11/9-camera-and-lighting.html

What is a ReacTable? Sunday, November 16, 2008. 9 Camera and Lighting. Until now, I have been using the built-in camera on my laptop to play around with the ReacTIVision software. As I get closer to having a real table to work with, I have been researching the requirements for a camera. From the official site. Near IR refers to light with a wavelength of 700 to 900 nm) See this WP article on Infrared Photography. Therefore infrared LED lamps can be used to illuminate the table. Filtering out visible light.

Building a ReacTable: 3. I will not use MIDI

http://building-a-reactable.blogspot.com/2008/11/3-i-will-not-use-midi.html

What is a ReacTable? Tuesday, November 11, 2008. 3 I will not use MIDI. ReacTIVision can communicate events in MIDI or in TUIO. I will be using TUIO. According to the software page on the official site. Keep in mind though that MIDI has less bandwidth and data resolution compared to Open Sound Contol, so the new MIDI feature is meant as an convenient alternative in some cases, but TUIO still will be the primary messaging layer. If you want to use MIDI, you could check this out:. TUIO vs. MIDI.

Building a ReacTable: 13. Endianness Conversion

http://building-a-reactable.blogspot.com/2008/11/13-endianness-conversion.html

What is a ReacTable? Tuesday, November 25, 2008. The following are two common tasks I have been dealing with, except I haven't been using the appropriate bitwise operators for efficiency. These examples were a big help:. How do I convert short (16 bit) samples to bytes to store them in a byte array? Example: Store 16-bit sample in a little-endian byte array:. Short sample = . Byte[] buffer = . Int offset = . Buffer[offset 0] = (byte) (sample and 0xFF);. Buffer[offset 1] = (byte) (sample 8) and 0xFF;.

Building a Canoe: 28. Maiden Voyage

http://building-a-canoe.blogspot.com/2008/09/28-maiden-voyage.html

In which a canoe is built, its progress described and photographed. Tuesday, September 30, 2008. This past weekend I took the canoe up to the Adirondacks. She's not done yet (I still need to glass the gunwales and breasthooks, and add a backrest) but she was ready to go in the water. I decided on Little Tupper Lake, which does not allow motorboats, and has many good campsites. Also, I was expecting rain all weekend, and cold nights, but I got lucky. It was (relatively) dry, and warm.

In which a canoe is built, its progress described and photographed. Thursday, August 27, 2009. 30 Looking back on the project. I stumbled across your blog and was wondering about your experience building the canoe. Did you ever figure out how much you spent? I can't decide if I want to buy the kit from clc or do it all from scratch. Also honestly as your first boat how easy was it? Let's see . about $45 on the wood, about $140 on epoxy, resin, and pump handles, and $60 on fiberglass cloth?

I have started bending the laminate strips for the next outer stem. After I finish installing both stems I will start on the gunwales. I had hoped to be in the water in May, or at least June, but I can see the conclusion approach now, and take heart from it. 24 Installing an Outer Stem. In which a canoe is built, its progress described and photographed. Sunday, January 27, 2008. I've added a half-dozen strips since my last post. Trimming to the tumblehome edge and beveling the next strip to match was difficult, and took a long time, but now that I'm past that point, the strips go on quickly. Next: I'll put on another half-dozen strips before I switch to the other side. Sunday, January 13, 2008. Shavings from cutting bevels. Close up of staples. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

In which a canoe is built, its progress described and photographed. Friday, December 28, 2007. 7 Choosing wood for the strips. Over Christ Mass, I've been researching the wood I will use for strips. As usual, the Wooden Boat Forum. Was very helpful. Based on their suggestions I came up with the following priorities. Do not use the following:. Very heavy or weak wood. Clear (or close to it). Strength to weight ratio. Available in central New York state. Sunday, December 9, 2007. How about " stem the tide.

In which a canoe is built, its progress described and photographed. Saturday, March 29, 2008. 17 Countdown: Four strips to go. About four strips remaining! I like this picture. Getting excited . This was earlier in the day. I trimmed down to the centerline with my awesome rabbet plane! I'm getting a little better with that tool, I think. It's not a great picture, but I hope you can see the curve of the strips on the left, and how the centerline runs across that curve. 16 Glue and Stapler. I got a great d...
