D-Mom thrown into battle with Type 1 Diabetes in November 2012. Organisation, organisation, organisation………. So in the beginning I was totally overwhelmed with everything you need to learn. For me, I realized very early on that I needed to get ‘diabetes organized’. I’ve changed a few things along the way, but some of the things I learned to do early on have been invaluable to me and keeping my mind focused. Lithium AA and AAA batteries. I think I need a bigger box now! FOOD and KITCHEN ORGANISATION.

The only thing holding me back was my stupid nerves. I wasn’t nervous about actually inserting the sensor, I was nervous about doing something wrong (stupid I know, especially in hindsight). Living with Type 1 Diabetes. Monthly Archives: May 2015. 8220;I can” flatten a juice carton in a few seconds flat …. May 11, 2015. My bedtime BG was 16.6mmol, which isn’t unusual on a Sunday. I usually get it back in range before bed but it just hadn’t happened this time. I had a correction dose and decided to set the alarm for 3am to make sure the insulin had done its job and to double check that I wasn’t going too low. Two hours later…. Argh, how, what? Living with Type 1 Diabetes. My husband has decided to have his hair dyed blue to raise funds for the Diabetes charity JDRF. He informed me yesterday (2nd March 2015) that he will also be keeping it like this for 4 weeks! I think its great that he’s doing something crazy (as he is unable to do something physical) to raise money for this. I’m just not too sure about the fact that I’m going to have to be seen in public with him. This is the Just Giving fund raising link – Allun’s Blue Hair. Mum of type 1.
