Livin la Vida Leone: January 2009

http://juliesleone.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Livin la Vida Leone. Dusting Day and the World's Smallest Dustman. I realized since we TECHNICALLY didn't get "snow", but rather a "dusting" I shouldn't refer to today as our SNOW Day, but rather our Dusting Day. In these pix, you'll see our dustball fight, the neighbors' dust angel, and the world's smallest SnowMan- or rather DustMan. Elias and Cameron get ready in their corner. Katie and I prepare to retaliate. Bella wipes Mama off when she gets pelted with a snow ball. Ready for the snow ball fight.

Livin la Vida Leone. Some of our new church family at Cristo Rey. Here you can see some of the members of our new church family- Cristo Rey Lutheran church and our sponsoring church family St. David's Lutheran. Things are going very well, although the current climate of anti-immigrant sentiment makes some of the families fearful of leaving their houses. It's quite sad and frustrating. We get to meet Emma Jean! They have a new baby- Emma Jean- and we finally got to meet her on Saturday! Fun with Tia Cara.

We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us." 2 Corinthians 5:20. Thursday, January 1, 2015. If we think about the things we do have, we forget about the things we don't have. Friday, December 25, 2009. Monday, December 07, 2009. This was on our (dc and I's) table at Bubba Gump's Shrimp in Colorado over the summer. and it is so true and fitting. so we have adopted it as our motto, because, you know, it is funny how things work out. Courtney in control 2. Friday, December 05, 2008. I am grateful for:. David- he makes me happier than I have ever been; he helps me to be a better person- the best person I can be. My “kids”- the kitties- who love me unconditionally and are always happy to see me. My family- momma, daddy, and brother- who also love me unconditionally. My job- including my boss and co-workers. For food to eat. The ability to achieve and accomplish goals that I have set for myself. To grow and to become a better person.

Courtney in Finland - Suomi Summer Stories

Courtney in Finland - Suomi Summer Stories. Sunday, August 29, 2010. I'm sitting in the Helsinki-Vantaa airport, waiting to board the first of three planes that will take me home. I'm still surprised that my summer in Suomi passed by so quickly. Though it was cold and rainy when I arrived in Helsinki in early June (and is now cold and rainy again), I was eager and excited to begin this Finnish adventure. I had no idea that, during these three months, I'd face a record breaking heat wave. Though I'm sad a...

Peace Corps - Honduras!

Peace Corps - Honduras! Instead of sending out mass emails that are packed with all the details and descriptions of my time in the Peace Corps, I thought a blog would be a better way to organize my thoughts and experiences. Also, keeping an online journal means that everyone can look at it when they want instead of having full e-mail inboxes of letters. Enjoy! The contents of this website are mine personally and do not reflect any position of the U.S. Government or the Peace Corps. Pineapple ready to eat.
