Fifty-Two: MidWeek Mini
http://our52.blogspot.com/p/feed-me-friday.html
While I'm working all week on Sunday's post, distilling seven days of messy life into something coherent and meaningful, there are sometimes trimmings that don't fit into the week's post. And thus was born the MidWeek Mini-Post. Topics may include mothering, products and shopping, excursions, food and cooking, books and literature, household management, relationships, or crafts. It's a wild card, a grab bag. Tune in midweek to find out what's on my mind. Hope you like what you find! New posts on Sundays.

Fifty-Two: Recovery: July 27 - August 2
http://our52.blogspot.com/2015/08/recovery-july-27-august-2.html
Sunday, August 2, 2015. Recovery: July 27 - August 2. In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat - for he grants sleep to those he loves. Reflections on recovering from vacation. When it comes to keeping house, I have a greater sense this week of do what you can. I'm reading with my Bible Study group, has highlighted the importance of taking notice of where I place my trust. Trust is a tricky thing to identify, though. Sure, I trust. Grateful this week for:. Leftover ice cream bars.

Fifty-Two: January 2015
http://our52.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 25, 2015. Little Boy Turns One: January 19 - 25. Be good to your servant while I live, that I may obey your word. Mornings. I love them. The day is new. I'm the only one awake. Coffee and quiet time in my robe and slippers. Putting away clean dishes, making lunches and breakfasts, preparing for the day. The hour from 5:30 - 6:30 might be as peaceful as the day is going to get. Dawn smacks of heaven. Did I go to bed annoyed? Oh, shoot. Is today the day of that meeting? I won't bemoan the l...

Fifty-Two: April 2015
http://our52.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 26, 2015. Simplicity: Apr 20 - 26. I am your servant; give me discernment that I may understand your statutes. Today I put in a Henry-nap's-worth of time catching up on March and April photos. And tonight I also posted our dinner here. An original recipe that was a big hit with Husband! Several of my facebook friends have posted references to this. Blog post (which in turn references this. Been around too long? Or a similar purge? A second round of wardrobe purging yesterday left me shamed ...

Fifty-Two: A Wedding Week: July 6 - 12
http://our52.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-wedding-week-july-6-13.html
Sunday, July 12, 2015. A Wedding Week: July 6 - 12. We have escaped like a bird. From the fowler’s snare;. The snare has been broken. And we have escaped. This is my favorite verse from one of my favorite psalms. I hope you'll read the whole thing! I coordinated a wedding for some friends yesterday. So in this week that was consumed with wedding prep, my thoughts were naturally along the vein of what marriage means and what a wedding day represents. Here are a few fragments of those thoughts. For more in...

Fifty-Two: Mixed Metaphors: July 20 - 26
http://our52.blogspot.com/2015/07/mixed-metaphors-july-20-26.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. Mixed Metaphors: July 20 - 26. The Lord has done great things for us and we are filled with joy. It seems a living thing. Never wearying. Always working. Balancing the lounging tourists who vacation at its banks to escape their relentless lives. Saying, with each breath, “I don’t rest. I’m on duty here. You can count on me. Day and night I'll be crawling in and sliding back out. You go ahead and relax.”. Grateful this week for:. Sandy shady nature trail. Moon shadows on sand. View ...

Fifty-Two: May 2015
http://our52.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 31, 2015. Reactions to Sadness: May 25 - 31. I rejoice in your promise like one who finds great spoil. Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble. Sadness. It stacks up in our Facebook feeds. It sours our stomachs at parties when we expected to be enjoying a cheeseburger. It lurks in plastic smiles and in rooms filled with bridesmaid tulle and hairspray and makeup. Larissa often hears from women who tell her things like “Thank you for sharing your story! Most o...

Fifty-Two: August 2015
http://our52.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 30, 2015. Still at School: Aug 24 - 30. But I have stilled and quieted my soul. That's the feeling I have about the week that's about to begin: it's time to restore some normalcy. It's time for Henry to stop having to take his afternoon naps at school while I work. It's time to make real dinners again and catch up on housework. We're (mostly) past the busy season and ready to bring some breathing room back into our days. And we're all very ready to breathe again. Grateful this week for:.
