Saturday, September 19, 2009. 954RR gets new tires and oil. This was going to be another weekend dedicated to motorcycle maintenance. This time the 954RR was going to get some attention. My new set of tires has been waiting for me at Dalton’s house for a few weeks now, I just haven‘t had much time to get out there and get them mounted. Next week I was flying to Chicago for a visit, so this weekend I wanted to get this done. Sportbikes look so nice up on the stands. Taking off the wheels. Yesterday was my...

Tuesday, June 30, 2009. The move, the job, and another ride. I was lucky enough to find a place to live in Loveland, just 7 miles away from the old house. I even managed to bring a carload of stuff to the new place the day my friend Sandy was riding from Illinois to Colorado so we could start our motorcycle trip. Links to this post. Monday, June 29, 2009. Colorado and Utah Trip Summery. Sandy and I in Crested Butte, CO. Sandy took this picture of me goofing off on highway 65. A ruin on highway 65. On day...

Since I quit that job in Loveland at the end of August, I’ve been trying to make a living by free-Lansing, consulting and walking dogs. After sending out hundreds of resumes and only having a hand full of interviews,. So after two weeks of commuting from Loveland to Lakewood. My new neighborhood, that's Green Mountain up ahead. Sunday, March 29, 2009. Fort Collins: Spring Canyon Community Park. Today Mike and I loaded our bicycles in to the car and headed to the Pineridge Natural Area. A dry trail at Spring Canyon Community Park turns slushy and slick, we stayed on pavement for the rest of the day. Mike heading east out of the Spring Canyon Community Park. Looking west toward Pineridge Natural Area from Spring Canyon Community Park. This far west yet. Taking a break on Spring Creek Trail. Mike on Spring Creek Trail. I was signe...

Friday, July 31, 2009. I've been riding for 10 years and 132,768 miles. I guess a little celebration is in order. This month marks 10 years of. Motorcycling for me. OK, actually it’s more than that. I started riding in. May of 1992 when I purchased my first motorcycle, but since I only rode. The Suzuki GN125 one season and then didn’t ride until July of 1999 until I purchased the Suzuki GS500, I have always been counting my motorcycling years starting with 1999. Purchased new 1989 Suzuki GS500. Multi-day...

Sunday, May 31, 2009. Ride: Loveland, Willow Creek and Cameron Pass. Dalton and I decided to meet in Longmont this morning since he lives east of Denver, and Longmont was kind of in the middle. My tentative plan was to ride 119 which I haven’t been on yet and some of the roads west of Denver and beyond. I always plan my rides in the software. Microsoft Streets and Trips. On 119 heading south. Heading west on 6 to I-70. After lunch we took 9 north. This road doesn’t have many curves actually but...When we...

Saturday, February 27, 2010. Snowshoeing Michigan Ditch Trail at Cameron Pass. I drove up to Fort Collins to hang out with my friends tonight. I wanted to take full advantage of being up north so CJ and I decided to do some snowshoeing during the day. The Michigan Ditch Trail was one I haven’t been on yet and it’s one of the most popular trails in the Cameron Pass area. This trail crosses in to Colorado State Park land, so there is a day use fee. Having fun with huge icicles. Some deep snow in places.

Wednesday, October 07, 2009. My First Year in Colorado. On October 1st I celebrated my first year in Colorado. Even though I love it here and never ever want to leave, it’s been a tough year. I moved to Colorado after getting laid off work in Illinois. I moved to Northern Colorado without a job and it’s been very tough finding work here, especially in this bad economy. Fall colors in Loveland, CO - first week of October. October 7th - first snow of (fall) 2009. I think the riding season might be coming t...

Sunday, August 30, 2009. Old Rabbit Ears Pass to Walden to Loveland. Ouch my aching head! Camping in the woods at Routt National Forest. Packing up the bike and getting ready to leave, I grabbed this photo from CJ's camera. Posing at the Old Rabbit Ears Pass monument. The ST3 and the Old Rabbit Ears Pass monument. CJ riding out of the woods on his SV650. I'd say his bike is packed to gills, wouldn't you? FR-315 and rain clouds. The ST3 on FR-315. Lots of bikes here today. CJ and I parted ways at the junc...
