Tom & Kat's South American Adventure: March 2007
http://www.ourbigtrip.net/2007_03_01_archive.html
Tom and Kats South American Adventure. Saturday, 31 March 2007. A Perfect BA day. Today we've had the classic BA day that was enjoyable rather than dealing with bureaucracy. In the morning we checked out hip historic suburb Palermo and looked a the shops and I got a great pair of handmade leather boots. Finally we all had a huge Parrilla dinner to round out the classic BA day. Thanks to Pio for setting us up with so much fun. Posted by Katrina Morris @ 22:42. Thursday, 29 March 2007. Tom & Kat's South American Adventure: April 2007

Tom and Kats South American Adventure. Saturday, 7 April 2007. Cabo Froward 19-23 March. This 5 day hike was our last for the season and what a spectacular expedition to finish with! This was not in our Lonely Planet trekking book and got 2 lines in the "around Punta Arenas" section of the Chile one. If only "windwhipped walk along cliffs" was accurate. "Tourist trail" this is not. The trail traces the coastline out to the tip of the continent on the Magellan Strait where a cross stands. Cape Froward has...

Tom & Kat's South American Adventure: December 2006
http://www.ourbigtrip.net/2006_12_01_archive.html
Tom and Kats South American Adventure. Sunday, 31 December 2006. After a comedy of errors last night (no ATMs. Working at the airport, the mobile number for our ride from the airport not working and then our room not being available when we finally made it to the hotel), we feel much improved after a decent sleep-in. We ended up staying where we originally intended ( Teamo. For the various screwups. Posted by Tom Williams @ 00:00. Saturday, 30 December 2006. Posted by Tom Williams @ 13:32.

Tom & Kat's South American Adventure: February 2007
http://www.ourbigtrip.net/2007_02_01_archive.html
Tom and Kats South American Adventure. Sunday, 25 February 2007. A "bonus" day in Bariloche. Today we discovered the joys of small airlines when LADE cancelled our flight. Sadly there were not enough seats for all of the passengers to slip onto the Aerolineas. This afternoon but the promise we'll go tomorrow. LADE is an airline run by the national air force. While they are cheap and don't have an evil system of charging foreigners close to twice as much as locals (like Aerolineas. Express" out to Pampa.

Tom & Kat's South American Adventure: January 2007
http://www.ourbigtrip.net/2007_01_01_archive.html
Tom and Kats South American Adventure. Wednesday, 31 January 2007. We're staying at Donde German. Pucon itself seems to mainly consist of tour operators, with every type of outdoor activity you'd want on offer - the main ones are volcano climbing and white water rafting, but there's a fair bit else available - from paintball to fishing to flying foxes to something called ' HydroSpeed. Sort of like white water rafting, except just using a boogie board. Kat shudders every time I mention trying it! One day ...

Tom & Kat's South American Adventure: September 2007
http://www.ourbigtrip.net/2007_09_01_archive.html
Tom and Kats South American Adventure. Thursday, 27 September 2007. Salta - Bolivia - Chile - Peru. After leaving Salta, we had a mad-cap week of travelling up to Bolivia, across to Chile, down to Santiago to finally catch a flight all the way back up to Peru. We'd organised a tour from Argentina to take us to various places in Bolivia Chile along the way, and while we where a bit nervous, it all worked out. The first place we went was the Uyuni in Bolivia, which is famous for it's Salt Flats. The next m...

Tom and Kats South American Adventure. Monday, 23 July 2007. Tom is back from the USA and we are visiting our friends in Brazil from when I did my elective here. The public telephones at the zoo are in the shape of parrots. Man meets his mortadela. Posted...

Tom & Kat's South American Adventure: May 2007
http://www.ourbigtrip.net/2007_05_01_archive.html
Tom and Kats South American Adventure. Monday, 21 May 2007. We spent the weekend down in Cachi, a town about 4.5 hours from Salta up on the altiplano. It's mostly famous for the drive there - a single lane hugging the cliffs with a deep valley below. Apparently parents hold their children up to the window during the trip if they're crying, and the view stuns them into silence! The other thing this area is famous for is sun-dried produce, particularly pimenton. Posted by Tom Williams @ 11:53. Our first ma...

Tom & Kat's South American Adventure: August 2007
http://www.ourbigtrip.net/2007_08_01_archive.html
Tom and Kats South American Adventure. Saturday, 25 August 2007. Our time in Salta is drawing to a close, so here's a few pictures of what life has been like living here. Our apartment (we've got the top floor):. Sunset from our balcony, with the Andes in the background:. The grill running under full load:. People are very proud of their culture and traditions here. No excuse needed to dress up and throw a parade:. Gaucho culture is pretty strong as well:. Getting your pink slip seems a bit easier here:.
