Wednesday, July 28, 2010. Not-Quite-Goulasch with Wild Rice. The secret to this strangely flavored dish is to enjoy it with a glass of Tempranillo Wine and The Darjeeling Limited. The full-bodied weirdness of the three combined see to offset each other. The result? Something familiar. but not boring. Saute red onions in olive oil till translucent. Add hamburg and brown. Food Hoard: January 2010

http://www.foodhoard.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, January 28, 2010. Coffee Pot Iced Tea. Loose leaf tea is great. Not only does it tend to brew a better beverage than most of the prepackaged stuff, it tends to be less expensive too. I buy most of my tea in Boston's China Town. There the best bang for your buck is Gunpower (tons of pun intended). This green tea is darker than most and packs a flavor punch that black coffee purists, like myself, will appreciate. Best of all, 250 grams (8.82 ounces) cost me $0.99. The quality of the coffee pot me...

Thursday, May 20, 2010. A rainbow from our Erlangen deck. There are more Greece posts to come, but in honor of the first day of Bergkirchweih. a rainbow! Monday, May 17, 2010. First Day on Kos: Kefalos. Was the question of the morning. Just as the negativity was about to set in, one of the speeding cars pulled to the side. The driver asked in American accented English. Tentatively Ryan said yes. Are you Ryan Buck? Are you Mr. Fourtounis? The town of Kefalos is situated up on a hill overlooking the harbor...

Wednesday, July 28, 2010. Our next stop on our architectural journey of Kos Town was the Roman Odeon. This theater has been reconstructed and is used in the summer for a concert and thespian series. Archeological digs continue on the site as more and more of the old structure is discovered. Oh, we also found a stone lion. it was neat. But those ants! That night we indulged ourselves with a seafood feast. Nick the Fisherman's is a small restaurant owned by Nick and his family who are. you guessed ...Havin...

Photo Hoard: Kos Town

http://photohoard.blogspot.com/2010/06/kos-town.html

Thursday, June 17, 2010. Our first stop was the Neratzia Castle. Built by the Knight Hospitaller. Of crusader fame, this 14th century castle sits on a pier in Kos harbor and is a great place to watch the boat come in and out. The knights, like so many other ancient groups, pirated columns from ancient ruins and used them to reinforce the ceiling of the castle gate. Also not quite possible for a tree that is estimated to be about 500 years old. You'll notice on the picture that the white marble fountain s...

food hits and misses

Food hits and misses. Recipes, cookbooks and gadgets. Sunday, May 25, 2014. 1/2 cup rapadura sugar. 1 egg, lightly beaten. 2 cups plain flour. 1 tsp baking powder. 2 tbs greek yoghurt. 1 cup toasted muesli. NOTE: I used Woolworths' Coconut and Macadamia toasted muesli because it has no sultanas. Plus it has the added bonus of tasting like the muesli I ate growing up, back in the day when adding fat and sugar was considered the only way to deal with oats. You can use whatever brand takes your fancy. Paste...

HENGITÄ SYVÄÄN

Elän tavallista elämää, eli tykkään liikkua, laittaa ruokaa ja harrastaa muitakin mukavia asioita. Sunnuntai 23. lokakuuta 2016. Kohta tulee talvi ja liukkaat kelit. Kammoan liukkautta. Miksi?

Recipes that I have collected. Sunday, January 10, 2016. Hello there, it has been a long time since I posted. I hope to get back into it, as I am still cooking, I just got lazy. I love reading Carolyn Jung's, blog Foodgal. Which is full of excellent recipes and inspiration. I recently bookmarked her post about these biscuits. Which sounded delicious and fairly easy to make. She said that the recipe is printed on the back of the takeout menu from Howie’s Artisan Pizzeria. So I'm just sharing it with you.
