wide eyed.: April 2012
http://hayleynenadal.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Ode to Amazing Roomates. I have two roommates in this Uptown New Orleans apartment, Dani Johnson and Al Page. Dani has lived here for almost 8 years and her dad put it best, "My daughter will stay until the ocean won't let her." She was born to live in New Orleans and doesn't mind sharing some of its amazing secrets with me. On a warm spring night, Al decided to "Occupy Spring" on our front balcony with a great outdoor fort. Birthday dinner on our balcony. Posted by Hayley Nens.

The Mountains Are Calling and I Must Go.: Oregon: A State In Review
http://imhikingrightnow.blogspot.com/2012/08/oregon-state-in-review.html
The Mountains Are Calling and I Must Go. Wednesday, August 29, 2012. Oregon: A State In Review. Again, I resort to my boring ol' tactic of writing a list of unrelated incidents that you may piece together however you would like to get an idea of what my hike is like! At least this one might have photos. Only a few short days out of Ashland, we came across the place that I had been looking forward to the most on this trip: Crater Lake! One of the more memorable days on trail, to say the least. The last 15...

Fallopian Groove (is a terrible name for a blog). Wednesday, March 12, 2014. Bad sleeper, better sleeper? Infant sleep. That dubious measure of parental success. Here then, the sleeping adventures of my terrible-sleeper-son-who-is-now-kind-of-improving-but-I’m-sure-as-soon-as-I-say-it-out-loud-I-will-jinx-it. Until two weeks ago, these were the sleep habits of my darling son:. 6:09 pm: Baby is still crying. Swaddle baby. Reassure baby that he. 6:10 pm: Lights off, white noise on, nurse baby. 7:00 pm: Bab...

Fallopian Groove (is a terrible name for a blog). Tuesday, February 25, 2014. Back to work, 11 weeks old. I’ve been back at work for over a week now. Over a week in which I have felt like some bizarre combination of a disembodied head attached to an electric pump. It has been disorienting, exhausting, stimulating and also, for good measure, TEARY. 1) They can hear you. Because that’s just who I am. SUPER MOM/MACGYVER. A mere 3 minutes into VERY IMPORTANT PHONE CALL. The pleasure of using the bathroom alo...

Fallopian Groove (is a terrible name for a blog): secrets I tell my son, five weeks old

Fallopian Groove (is a terrible name for a blog). Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Secrets I tell my son, five weeks old. Because I do everything my saccharine and kind of patronizing. 8220;My Baby Today” Baby. Center App tells me to do, the other day I was instructed to “tell your baby a secret.” The “secret” they suggested I tell my son was, “I love you.” [1]. According to Baby Center:. Sharing “secrets” using a cardboard tube will keep your baby intrigued. High tech baby communication device. I am keeping t...

Fallopian Groove (is a terrible name for a blog): July 2013

Fallopian Groove (is a terrible name for a blog). Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Overachiever: measuring ahead, 19 weeks, 5 days. At my last prenatal visit, my OB slung a tape measure over my now protruding belly and pronounced me. Ahead of schedule. Six days ahead, to be exact. During my full fetal scan on Friday, yet another OB – the on call OB who made a brief and memorable cameo appearance after the ultrasound tech was done regaling us with the bizarre-alien-freak-show that is a 3D ultrasound. Is there a ...

Fallopian Groove (is a terrible name for a blog): retail therapy, 18 weeks, 4 days
http://fallopiangroove.blogspot.com/2013/07/retail-therapy-18-weeks-4-days.html
Fallopian Groove (is a terrible name for a blog). Tuesday, July 23, 2013. Retail therapy, 18 weeks, 4 days. I really wanted to wear a muumuu. For the next twenty weeks. I swear. Interspersed with a few clutch academic robes, beach towels and assorted capes. I really did. But here’s the thing – I got this new lawyer job where I have to like, be “professional” and act in a “supervisory role” and “model good behavior for students” [1]. And “appear in a court of law”, etc. You want me to put you on? Curve on...
